The Visible Story Of This Place

I went to one of the landmarks of Gazipur, we call it a monument. It is a witness to one of the most important events in Bangladesh and since then till today people respect this monument. There are several categories of this monument which have different stories in them.

In the middle of this monument there is a symbol of the Bangladesh flag and there is written Bangladesh in consciousness. This monument was created around several contexts. Currently this monument has been updated and it is observed on a specific day every year.

Independence in Consciousness is a historical sculpture in Gazipur that carries the memory of various mass movements in Bangladesh. On February 21, 1952, students at various places including Dhaka University protested demanding that Bengali be made the state language. Many including Salam, Barkat, Rafiq, Jabbar were martyred in police firing. This movement created a pillar on the basis of the future independence struggle. After the language movement, dissatisfaction among the people increased.

Several parties including the Awami League formed a united front. For this, another pillar was created. In 1966, Bangabandhu raised a six-point demand, the main goal of which was autonomy for East Pakistan. These six points later became the outline of independence. In 1969, a nationwide movement began. Student leader Asad was martyred in police firing. President Ayub Khan was forced to leave power under the pressure of the movement. So these four pillars have been created around the four events of these four years.

Writing Stories From Multiple Angles

Those who love the country and love the history of the country often come to visit this pillar and take pictures of these structures. There is a lot of activity here because many people like to delve into history. This memorial pillar is located on the left side of the road between Gazipur and Joydevpur cities. I went there and took pictures from a few angles from a distance. It is a revered place and I took pictures of several sections of this pillar.

• This time I moved a little closer to this place. I brought the camera closer and took pictures to show the interaction of people with the place so that everyone could recognize this monument.

• This time I only captured the actual scene. To make my story stronger, I only took pictures of the carvings on a few pillars. Here, the main mystery of this pillar has been carved into art.

I Revealed The Meaning Of Place

This is an important part of the context of Bangladesh's independence. There is also history about the events of 1970 and 1971. The events that happened in each year have left a witness to history and are embedded in these monuments. For this reason, this monument has been built in front of the public at important places in the city so that people of all ages, from young to old, can see this monument and know the history of Bangladesh.

So I think this sculpture is a symbol of the Bengali's right to achieve self-sacrifice and the mental strength of independence. Every year on a specific date, people go in front of the monument and honor the martyrs who gave their lives for the country.

Angle And Perspective Capture

Now I have determined some angles of this monument. In order to make the landmark look more majestic, I have taken pictures from every angle of the lower corners. I have taken pictures of the curved corner on the right side of this monument, then I have taken pictures of the curved part on its left side.

Then I have gone straight to the side. From there, I have set a specific angle and taken pictures by understanding the lines of each angle. The structure of this monument has been made so perfectly that it is convenient for every photographer to capture the corners in the picture.

I will say with a smile that this Independence in Consciousness Monument is the path of all the movements in the history of Bangladesh's independence. When I went here, many other people were taking pictures in front of me from different angles, so I had to take some time to take my picture.

Because I don't want to put any people in the background. I tried to directly highlight the completed monument. I took a wide angle photo of the complete monument from a distance and added my selfie. This is one of the symbols of the history of Bangladesh's independence.
