What motivates or demotivates me to exercise

Introduction

Body fitness exercises are not just for the extra size people. The first thing that usually cross people's mind especially Nigerians is that as long as your slim and not fat so to say, you don't have anything to do with exercise. They'll be like "wetin concern bicycle for fuel station?" That used to be my mindset too, but as I grow up not just in size or age, but also in knowledge, I realize that body fitness exercises are meant for everyone no matter the gender, body size etc.

My Journey to Fitness Exercise

I had the interest of engaging in exercises during my service year in 2015 while serving my country in the NYSC scheme at Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. At least, I had like minds, the corp members we lived in the same lodge together made it easier for me, even when I had no interest in engaging in the exercises, their motivation was enough to begin and that's how I joined them.

It wasn't just immediately, but as time went on, I saw the need to join them. As the case was, some corp members went to register at a gym while we had an instructor at the lodge to help us with the exercise. On the other hand, I put in personal efforts to do some parts on my own, like squatting, sit-ups, cycling and the rest. It was a daily routine that, even after I came home, I was consistent in the exercise.

Challenges That stopped me

Fast-forward to January 2017 when I got a busy job. The job took all my time, that I would leave in the morning before 7am and would come home by 5 o'clock and sometimes more than that. As time passed, I began to travel out of my state of residence to other states because of the job. That made it difficult for me not to continue with the body fitness exercises.

Nevertheless, I promised to return soon but something else came up. I got married and was pregnant immediately. The laziness that came with it stopped me. I gave myself hopes that after delivery I would go back but another pregnancy. At that point, coupled with a teaching job, I lost interest.

It wasn't procrastination, or that I willingly stopped, but reasons beyond my reach did. And so, I had no option than to succumb.

Hope to Restart?

It's a big question. I honestly admire seeing people exercising when ma'am @ngoenyi makes a Facebook post or posting here on Steemit. I personally admire @ngoenyi for her strength and inspiration to take such moves and also making it a lifestyle and a reality for others to achieve their dream body.

Back to the question. I'm I still hoping to start soon? The answer is no. Why? I have no enthusiasm for that any more, I have other things at hand. Maybe time will tell.

Once you're time consuming person, hardly you remember to keep fit by exercising except you're really passionate about. Keeping fitness is essential, although from your writeup, you're have stated what makes you stop exercising but I will love to encourage you to try engaging on indoor exercise like the cycling, situp you mentioned, gradually the interest will be again.

If you have not been into exercise it can be difficult to engage in it. To me exercsing is a habit that you must have but if you don't have it forget about it.

But it is also healthy is stretch once once so please try and exercise when you can. All the best dear.
