Christmas Shopping Adventure 🎄........... NW Cascade Wanderings

Peace on earth! We could all use a little of that! It was not to be this morning…….

We awoke to the wind blowing quite a bit this morning. I got up and took a shower and had just gotten dressed when I asked Alexa if we were under a wind advisory, as it seemed to be intensifying. She gave the weather and sure enough, we were until 4 PM. Within 5 minutes, we’d lost power! Whew….glad I got my shower, but @silvertop had yet to get his. Fortunately, all he had to do was set up the generator. Then he could have his. 😁

We had decided to go shopping as I’d soon discovered upon laying out gifts on the bed for our boys and their wives to discover almost nothing had been purchased for our sons. 🙄

No electricity -may as well go, so we did. First stop-Hobby Lobby, as I was in search of over sized coffee mugs. Found what I was looking for along with a few other items. Next stop: Home Goods. They have exotic foods, spices, teas and lots of home goods along with lots of Christmas!

I like nut crackers, but this was too much white and way overpriced, even at the reduced price!

We did find a few items and even some for my coworkers too. We’d been shopping for about three hours and the clock was beginning to head to the late afternoon hours. I needed sustenance. Starbucks-here we come!

It was a much needed break. After that, we headed across the street to BGO-Lynden. It is a grocery warehouse that’s good to visit for decent prices and some exotic groceries. I found beef jerky for the boys as they enjoy that and a few other things as well. We just rarely go there as it’s not super easy to get to traffic wise. After today’s visit, we are thinking we might should go more often.

It was time to head home. But first, I decided to drive through Main Street, Lynden, for a couple of Christmas light pictures!

We might go back tomorrow to try to finish up. I do have this coming Friday off, to help with wrapping up, literally, and any last minute purchases that might need to be made.

Oh-as of this posting, we still have no electricity!🙄 The utility company has been aware all day since it happened, but I suspect it will be tomorrow or maybe even Monday before we see it back on. 🙄 Thank goodness for solar power and generators!😎

That’s gonna be it for now. Take care and have a blessed Sunday! 🙏🌎🙏

When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem! Let’s see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them.
