The View From My Garden Swing 🌞………North Cascade Wanderings
It’s Monday! 😏 Hope you’ve all had a good one! 😎
My garden swing sits to the north of the house facing southeast. It gets both morning and afternoon sun and is generally quiet unless the neighbor has his tractor or lawnmower out. Birdsong fills the air along with the rustling of the leaves on the trees. It’s becoming my outdoor sanctuary; peaceful and refreshing!

I headed up the hill to visit Linda this morning. She’s depressed and is having trouble navigating the grief she’s experiencing with the loss of her husband. Visiting is nice, but I’m wondering if maybe she needs more. She’s mentioned that she needs to get outdoors to do some gardening. She’s also mentioned cleaning out a back porch area as well. I know she’s expecting some family from Montana next week, I believe, so I’m hoping that will be a good thing for her. Perhaps I’ll mention gardening together or helping her to begin the organization she’s mentioned. Maybe she just needs someone to help her get started. 🧐

There were some interesting lenticular clouds joined by an impressive array of cumulonimbus clouds to the southeast of Lynden towards Mt. Baker area this afternoon. We needed some gas for the lawnmower, topped up the car, as well as ran through the Dollar Tree and Safeway too.
I decided to take a look around the yard to see what else was going on. The purple irises are beautiful!
The wild periwinkle cornflower as it’s getting ready to bloom…..
….and then in bloom.
My queen digitalis is as tall as I am!
It might be hard to see, but her court (smaller ones) surround her. Take a look at her bloom stem… she’s going to be impressive once in bloom!
The Aspen trees and flowers are doing well.
I also noticed I have some dahlias coming up. I’m looking forward to seeing their flowers!
Enjoy some other views from around the property.
I remember when this guy was only 10” tall. Now he’s massive and well towards 15 plus feet!
My steps for today:
Tomorrow is ladies Bible study. Looking forward as always, to it.
