Guys, you know that you have found your soulmate when your Lady tells you something like this!😇😍
“Silvertop, HE’s EARLY, hurry up, our delivery of firewood logs will be here just before 9AM!” 🥰
Silvertop was already hurrying, and I had just stepped out of the shower, when Liz made this statement!😳
It can be difficult for large trucks to back up into our driveway, it is bordered with trees on both sides.
Liz had previously checked with this company about the height requirement for the delivery truck….. our overhead grid electric entrance cable is about 12 feet above the ground.
“Our trucks need 10 foot of height clearance @elizabethbit!”
With both of us standing out in the middle of our road waiting, I could hear the telltale sound of a large dump truck working hard, coming up our very steep road!
“Silvertop, I see logs ABOVE the truck cab!”😬
We flagged him to a stop in front of our driveway……..
“ Maybe you want to take a look at where we are hoping you can dump the logs for us!”😇
“Cody” the driver, and the owner of the company, definitely knew what he was doing!
“No problem guys, plenty of room overhead!”👍
Within seconds he had his truck backed up and ready to dump!

“Honey I just cut half a cord of firewood rounds, and I barely made a dent in this pile of logs!”🤣
It looks like we received about SIx Cords of firewood…………nice!🤗
Take a close look at the Mountain side photo just after my pickup. Do you see the light areas of the forest up towards the top left?
This is where lumber clearcut has taken place. If you love the forest as much as Silvertop, you might be concerned about this cutting of the beautiful forest. Take a look at the last photo……
In the distance, you can see a large field of newly planted trees. Everything grows so quickly in the Pacific Northwest, and “Old Growth” forests are protected from lumber harvesting. For every tree that is cut, several are replanted! With well over three foot PLUS of new growth each year, this is truly a renewable resource!😊
“Liz at my current rate of 1/2 cord a day, and then rain days….. it will probably take me all of May to cut all these logs into rounds!
Then PEPE promised me he would come out and split ALL these rounds for me Lol!😇
