“Dad we will be up at 6 AM, you and Mom be ready to Go!”😍
It was Father’s Day weekend, and just a week past Silvertop’s Birthday.
Liz and I were so excited to be spending the weekend with our son, his Wife, and Baby Granddaughter Olivia!🥰
I had no idea what the “Rush” was all about! Silvertop crawled his way out of the temporary air bed that our son had set up for mom and dad to sleep on for the weekend, at 5 AM!😳
6 AM and everyone was still asleep except for Silvertop and Liz!………🤔
7 AM all was still quiet…………..
8 AM, you would think baby Olivia would wake up Mommy and Daddy by now Lol!😇
Finally at 8:30 AM our son came down the stairs in a panic!😳
“Dad we need to go, we will be ready to GO in fifteen minutes, we need to hurry!”☺️
Wherever we were going, we needed to be there by 10:30 AM!😅
Two hours of our son driving faster than Silvertop was comfortable with on the Expressway, and we pulled into the Historic town of “Elbe” Washington!😊
“Ohhh……… Liz, look at Engine number 70!”🤗
This Sunday was the “First” public run of this completely restored steam engine for the “Mount Rainier scenic railroad!”☺️
You could feel the excitement in the air!
“Chat GPT, tell me about about number 70!”😇

“ Silvertop…..No. 70 is a 2-8-2 “Mikado” type steam locomotive built in 1922 by the famous Baldwin Locomotive Works. Its Baldwin construction number was 55355.”

This Steam engine worked for a logging company hauling heavy timber through the 1960’s. It was/and is, a workhorse of a steam engine. It was good to see that someone had the foresight to restore this powerful engine for day excursions!👍
“Bill……..Don’t you think that BIG guy standing behind us in line, really needs to buy TWO tickets Lol!”🤣
What an awesome Train Ride, you can see Liz is enjoying himself in the second to last photo!😍
