Scenes From a Winter Garden — Nature Lies Dormant!
This time of the year, I don't visit the garden so often, so there are not very many interesting photos to share.
Nature is "sleeping" now; the ground and the earth rests while it waits for longer days and warmer sun.
Here we sit under the apple trees in summer, celebrating a day's work and admiring our harvests. Now it is all blanketed in snow.
Our raised beds are also covered in snow.
Below the white blanket, the earth is still "doing things;" the mulch and plant matter we dug in is "cooking" and will become rich organic matter that helps feed next summer's crops.
A few frozen tomatoes still hang on a couple of plants we didn't get to, before we were surprised by the sudden onset of winter.
It's too cold now; we'll have to deal with those once things thaw out.
Mother Nature is going through her cycle; in the meantime we enjoy our activities in the nice warm indoors.
Thanks for stopping by!

I am following the #club5050 initiative that's going around, to see if I can't build this account a bit. Below is a screen shot of what I did with the rewards of my last post:
