Hello community, this time I want to share my latest painting works. This blue box is a present for my sister. She asked me for a painting over a year ago, but I was just getting back on it.

Learning this technique, easy as it may seem, took me a whole year! As my knowledge is empirical, I have wasted paint horribly, tried with different types of leaves and textures and it is always a surprise, so I highly recommend taking a face-to-face course, even if it is basic. For this painting I used cayenne leaves, a beautiful tropical flowering plant.

I chose it because its suction cups are strong and that is a great data when working with sheets: the more marked the suction cups and the edges, uff, the cleaner the work since we are using the sheet as a stencil, and the idea is that the sheet with the greatest amount of detail.

Siempre.

Materials : . Used canvases that were to be discarded
. Water-based acrylic paint (it can be normal paint and white glue is added to it.
. Brushes (I used the school ones that I have) .
. Fresh leaves

procedure
The canvases that I used were made of plastic (a primer) I applied 2 layers of white paint and then one of black paint (you can use any color you like, I feel that with dark backgrounds the colors stand out more, but it remains to be tested) .

You take several sheets and paint them alternating colors to get depth, I recommend starting from dark to light. . Don't overload the brush or you'll get a smudge. If necessary remove excess with a napkin. .

Lay the sheets down gently, the smaller the amount of paint, the more you can press down with your fingers. 💕Don't get frustrated if you don't get it right the first time, practice first, yes, on a similar surface.

. Organize the sheets to your liking and place as many as you want, give way to your imagination with the colors. Finally, moisten the brush in the main color (in my case, blue) in water and pass it along the edges of each sheet, as if it were watercolor. As a final step, once dry, apply a thick coat of white glue for a semi-gloss, sealant-like finish.

I hope you liked this project, I did it with a lot of love.

Hi @jhellenmjgr, I saw you started posting on Steemit again.
Congratulations on your post.

It's a pity that your posts don't get enough visibility on Steemit.
Unfortunately on such a big blogging platform many users risk not getting the results they hoped for.

Have you ever thought of entering some competitions?
There are many organised by various communities.
It is a great way to make your work known.

You could have a look at Contest Alerts: Active Contest List and search for the contest that suits you.

Good luck with your blog, do not hesitate to contact me for any information.

Hi, thank you, yes I often I used to participate in contest but now it's mandatory to belong to the clubs and I don't reach the requirements.

Hi @jhellenmjgr, for most communities club membership has become compulsory, it's true.
It's a choice to invite users to be not only bloggers but also investors to allow the platform to function properly.

But in our community the contests are open to all Steemit users regardless of club membership, the important thing is that they don't spam, don't plagiarise, use original content and their own or copyright free images and must not be in the Power Down process.

If you feel like it, come and have a look at the community of Italy. ;D

I love italy community I used to post there a lot, I'll check it out again, thank you so kind of you.
