RE: Researchers show Facebook’s ad tools can target a single user - TechCrunch
Nothing to stop nanotargeting
One way to prevent one-to-one targeting would be if Facebook were to put a robust a limit on the minimum audience size.
This is something very dangerous. I myself, no longer make posts on facebook more than 3 years, do not give a like sign on anyone's post, but ads still appear in the feed. Is this method effective, to reduce facebook ads? hopefully so.
I have also reduced my Facebook usage and almost eliminated Twitter usage in recent months. They used to be sources of information, but now - to me - they feel more like indoctrination centers.
Another thing I did is to "unlike" most of the pages I had followed so that my account would be less valuable to Facebook.
