The stormy weekend is finally over, and in summary, we can say: Fortunately, it wasn't that bad after all!

At least in our area, because elsewhere it snowed significantly more. It was very unpleasant here too, but in the end only one or two centimeters of snow came down from the sky. It was very windy though, but our house is still standing and I couldn't see any damage around us either.

Not far away, they got about 20 to 30 centimeters of fresh snow in some places, but even that is nothing that would cause people in our region to despair. The forecast had suggested much more, and at the moment everyone is relieved that it wasn't as bad as expected.

The weather is supposed to remain a little calmer over the next few days, at least that's the current situation. However, it will probably become a little uncomfortable again towards the weekend.

After all it is January and here in this part of the country we always have to expect stormy winter weather. And actually, we should also prepare for significantly more snow than we have had so far.

Of course, I'm glad that it didn't turn out to be as white as predicted, but I know a few people who would have preferred it to be the other way around. And they even live under the same roof as me – that's how different preferences can be.

Das stürmische Wochenende ist erst einmal vorbei und zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen: So schlimm war es dann zum Glück doch nicht!

Jedenfalls bei uns in der Ecke, denn woanders hat es zumindest deutlich mehr geschneit. Bei uns war es zwar auch sehr ungemütlich gewesen, aber am Ende waren es dann nur ein oder zwei Zentimeter, die vom Himmel kamen. Es war zwar super windig, aber unser Haus ist stehen geblieben und auch um uns herum habe ich keine Schäden entdecken können.

Nicht weit entfernt gab es wohl teilweise 20 bis 30 Zentimter Neuschnee, aber auch das ist nichts, wobei die Menschen in unserer Region verzweifeln würden. Die Vorhersage hatte deutlich mehr angedeutet, und im Augenblick sind alles erst einmal erleichtert, dass es nicht schlimmer gekommen ist.

In den nächsten Tagen soll es erst einmal ein wenig ruhiger bleiben, zumindest ist das der augenblickliche Stand der Dinge. Wobei es zum Wochenende hin dann wohl wieder etwas ungemütlich wird.

Nun ja, wir befinden und ja auch im Januar, das ist mit stürmigen Winterwetter leider immer zu rechnen. Und eigentlich auch mit deutlich mehr Schnee, als wir bisher hatten.

Klar bin ich froh, dass es doch nicht so weiß geworden ist wie angesagt, aber ich kenne ein paar, die hätten es doch lieber anders rum gehabt. Und diese wohnen sogar unter dem gleichen Dach wie ich - so unterschiedlich können die Vorlieben sein.

Ich wünsche uns allen einen ruhige und entspannte Woche. Kommt alle immer sicher dahin, wo ihr hin wollt und anschließend auch wieder gesund zurück nach Hause.
