True Colours 8: Curation End Report February 2026 - Week 4

We Loved, Laughed, Liked,
Read, Commented
Adviced, Connected
February turned out to be awesome.
This is the final report from the True Colours curator team. Before naming the nominees, we would like to share our experience of the past month. The process was stress-free, and we can honestly say that we thoroughly enjoyed it.
We would have liked to upvote many more posts and comments, but unfortunately, there were not enough votes to go around, and difficult choices had to be made.
It was a month filled with love, connection, and creativity. However, towards the end of the month, we noticed an increase in the number of posts suspected of being AI-generated. While one could argue that this still qualifies as creativity, it impressed us considerably less.
Regarding hashtag use, many Steemians still have little idea of how to use them correctly. More training in this area is urgently needed, particularly on how to make posts visible and how to categorize them effectively. It's important to reinforce the use and added value of the steemexclusive hashtag.
In February, we spoke with several new users and helped them, as we noticed great potential in the area of creativity but also a lot of confusion among them.
We are fortunate that we were able to reward many comments, often those forming part of thoughtful, lengthy, and advisory discussions. However, we do find it regrettable that, within certain communities, hateful and disparaging comments are written. This has led us to decide not to vote on such comments.
We regret that so many valuable comments go unrewarded. It would be wonderful if this happened less often. Perhaps this task could be taken over by other Steem curators or a dedicated team. It would also be very helpful if the hashtags in the comments were functional.
We thank the Steemit team for an amazing month filled with art, connections, and love.
That said, we're sharing the nominations, which include beautiful captures and stories from the end of winter, art and technology skills, personal achievements, and valuable insights about the platform.

Is it a wintertale or more like a burden?
"It's been snowing all day, and everything was covered in a thick, fluffy layer. My steps were sinking in it, and the air was that strangely cold, but somehow clean. The lights from the streetlights and the windows of the buildings were reflected in the snow."

To get the most out of a good tool or application that combines art and technology, it is invaluable to have the guidance of a teacher willing to make it easier through an useful tutorial.
"If you’ve ever tried to create complex geometric art or mandalas in Blender Grease Pencil, you know that the standard drawing guides can sometimes feel a bit... limited.
...In this tutorial, I’m going to show you a "pro-method" to build a high-precision grid from scratch. The best part? It is surprisingly easy."

It may sound cliché, but music can become the soundtrack of our lives, even more so if it has served as a backdrop to inspiring stories on the big screen.
"Throughout all this time, I've seen thousands of movies, and some have marked my life, even through something as specific as sound...Upon hearing it, who hasn't felt they can overcome any obstacle, no matter how big it may seem?... These three soundtracks silently accompanied me during my graduation ceremony as an Architect."

Many users at some point take on the role of tool developers. In this case, it's the commenter. His conversation with another user about his tool for calculating his Steem investments ends with a clear response outlining his vision for the platform and Steem.
"I see STEEM less as a short-term trade and more as an investment in the ecosystem. With more SP, not only does the curation increase, but so does the impact of my votes and my long-term position on the platform. For me, it's more of an investment in my activity and performance on Steemit – not just in the coin itself."

Pride in personal effort and the ability to foresee for the sake of present and future well-being are the essence of this commentary.
"Just like I used to say that I want to settle myself before I get old now that I'm still strong and vibrant. This particular land you see me standing infact trying to clay it for planting belongs to me... I have seen the good benefits of it and I believe that more is coming my way."

A colourful celebration unfolds in the snow-covered landscape. It culminates with the burning of Maslenitsa, thus bidding farewell to winter. However, it seems Father Winter won't be driven away.
"As in other regions of our country, a pagan ceremony was traditionally held where a Maslenitsa doll was burned. In general, I don't like these kinds of events. I like it when something is created, not when something is destroyed."

Overnight, #steemexclusive is a hot topic again. Who owns the intellectual property created? Can Steemit claim this right while AI constantly plagiarises, and why are the platforms behaving so childishly towards each other?
"I'm going to say something that's a bit off-topic, and it's that I think the rivalry between Hive, Steem, and Blurt is childish, especially in Hive, it's becoming an absurd witch hunt, to the point where a developer created a page to detect if a Hive user is active on other blockchains, in order to silence them! Web3 is sold as a refuge from censorship and corporate manipulation, and what they preach the most is content ownership, but now it turns out that there are punishments for using your own content on other platforms. I respect the #steemexclusive tag, I use it because I ran into a moderator here on Steem who, instead of warning me about the rules, just silenced me, and when I rectified my "mistake", the moderator maintained the silence..."
