Healthcare in specialized centers involves more than just financial calculations. A caretaker lovingly cares for patients, but has seen the government support for the profession decline, leaving a thoughtful message about the nature of service.

"This nursing home has good carers who did not have a certificate and were dismissed or moved into nursing when the boss changed. They only paid for one colleague to do this further training. I cannot cope with this piecework. And why? Because, instead of five carers, only one specialist and one care assistant are now employed to care for 30 residents.
I'm still frustrated...Even all the activities surrounding nursing are now financed differently to save costs... Something has to change in social professions. Serving people needs support, not competition."

Undoubtedly, art redeems humankind. This visual artist volunteers at an art workshop. She presents her work to us through a review for Steem Atlas, highlighting what the workshop has meant for at-risk children in the area where it is located.

"This place opens its doors to children between the ages of 6 and 14 from the Trinidad neighbourhood, offering them art and English classes in a safe and creative environment. Life in a Western Country.... Belgium: zero income, no way to leave the terrible neighbourhood, living with pain and begging for money for basic needs and to visit a doctor. If you are into diaries, this is a must-read!

After pride comes the fall? Humanity's destructive actions are far-reaching, not only with nature, but also with each other. What makes us the people we are?

"...the whole thing about people and their "education," be it upbringing by parents, family, friends, and schools, is such an extremely sensitive topic that I've always clashed with. It started with me at school and continued with my children at school and within my relatives. It's an extremely sad topic. I've never understood why people who were mistreated themselves then treat their children just as badly as they were treated, even though they "will certainly do things differently" (according to their own statements). You know what kind of pain and deep emotional wounds something like that leaves behind, and besides, it's very difficult to repair."
