Fasting is kept purely to please Allah. Hunger and thirst have no role in it. A person can remain hungry for as long as he wants, but when, while remaining hungry, he restrains himself from sins and evil deeds and actively participates in good deeds, then such a person becomes a beloved servant of Allah and is granted Paradise because fasting is purely for Allah and He will reward him.
