I remember how invisible and frustrated I felt in my early days. I got off on the wrong foot, because for privacy reasons I didn't want to publish the tasks given to beginners.
Perhaps due to past abuses, they thought it was a good idea to force new users to post a photo of their face while holding a handwritten note with their username and the date. I found it bizarre.
And also, I posted my introductory post on my blog, another mistake. I think the first person who noticed me was @wakeupkitty, who commented on a post in the new community.
Because of the emptiness, I left the platform for many months. Then I returned and had better luck, as I found a community where I could publish creative writing.
I honestly started because I wanted to earn something for the future, but as you say, this shouldn't be considered a job. Now I see it as a way to exercise my mind through writing.
Fortunately, I also found some people with whom I could have frank exchanges of opinions, which is hard to find on social media, making it worthwhile to be here.
Regarding visibility, I can't complain, but to be honest, I know that the number of votes isn't usually correlated with quality or even effort. But that's society.
Now, I confess that I don't dedicate time to discovering new users, and I think I should change that, considering that I was also - am - new, and that we need to think about how important that first vote is.
Who cares about ego in public? Everyone wants to get fame, but this is possible for very few people. Most people work hard for a long time, but it is very difficult to get the reward. I have worked on Steemit for a long time and I also felt that the reward for hard work here is very difficult. I stopped using Steemit a while ago because I did not feel any attraction in it, but there was a time when the Steem dollar rates suddenly increased and when I cashed out my savings, it became a handsome amount. After that, I became excited and excited and I entered Steemit again with enthusiasm. It is a fact that to be visible on Steemit, you have to work hard and save the different opportunities and scenes around you in the camera so that we can also participate in various Steemit competitions and also present our own content. For this, I often use the memory of my mobile. I keep clearing my space so that I can collect the best photos to create new content. My family members are often surprised by my behavior that I often take photos of things that my family members find useless, while I find all those photos perfect for my Steemit competitions, such as a picture of a shadow. I have started to feel very interested in taking pictures of different types of shadows and I have also started noticing shadows that I never considered important before. This time too, it is absolutely true that commenting on other people's posts and improving yourself by reading their posts is a great practice and is also great for coming into the eyes of others. After using Steemit, I found a great change in myself that not only has it become easier for me to read English, but now I also write a lot in English, whereas earlier I used to speak and write only in my mother tongue.
That's right, sometimes hard work doesn't get the reward we think we deserve, but the good thing is that we can still have the satisfaction of doing well even if we aren't rewarded.
I also hope, of course, that the platform will become more equitable over time, and I think we can have a little influence on that by helping those who are starting out and increasing our SP to give valuable votes. Steem curators are not allowed to vote for those in powerdown. That is why she lost her vote. If she stops her powerdown she can receive votes again.

Powerdown takes in average three days, unless you start again. I understand you are in need of a fridge but as an SC I cannot give you upvotes only privately.

Right now there als newcomers joining CCC so it easy to reach out to them and read, leave a comment and your vite no matter if it 0 or more.what counts is to know if what you wrote is appreciated and if you ask most posts are read sooner or later and do not sink into the swamp after seven days like @evagavilan remarked.
Like you I received help after a very long time and been drilled to also read and comment and vote. If it comes to voting it indeed isn't related to the quality of a post. In average we give the vote to someone we like and in rare occasion to a few we do believe wrote some great which can be a quite, a poem, a long take or helpful comment. Next to that good photos and art deserve upvotes since although it doesn't always looks like it, but there's a lot of work invested in it (well, in average it is the case especially if AI isn't used like @bambuka remarked at an earlier poll).
Like you and many others I never went through that newcomers achievement program and I doubt I would have done that since Steemit was meant to be a safe place, meant to be anonymous and bring people into great danger.
I understand why step was taken to fight scammers and still communities exist where people have to go through a second check. If you ask me this is by now something out of the past and no longer needed, which is good.
If it comes to scammers, a users of the system and AI posters more steps should be taken but Inam afraid those small ones aren't biggest abusers of the system.
