Today I had the opportunity to take this picture of two brown-faced parrots.
They are native to northern South America and, therefore, popular in Venezuela. Here in Caracas, it's very common to see them flying through our skies, and many people even keep them in cages.
On this occasion, I went out to buy something at a bakery, and by chance, a business right next door had a cage with four parrots, but I selected these two to show in this fun contest.
Something that caught my attention is that these parrots are monogamous, because the pairs, once they begin their relationship, are together for life.
These birds are known as brown-faced parrots because of the color of the feathers on their face and neck, which is brown or dark green; it looks like they have dirty faces.
These parrots are in a fruit shop, so they don't go hungry, since they feed mainly on fruits, vegetables, and seeds, and they have everything they need at that shop.
Finally, I must mention that I don't like seeing any kind of animal locked up, deprived of its freedom; I understand that in some cases it's necessary; however, it's not something I like.

What cute little parrots. Do they also talk? I have seen many of these birds being pets. When I was a teenager my mother had a partner. Then one of them died and many years later the other died. It is certainly sad to take away their freedom and then not take care of them. My mother loved them and taught them to speak.
These are not the ones that talk; the ones that repeat words and phrases are what are called real parrots, and they have yellow on the top of their heads.
I had one of those, and also the ones called corraleros, which are the ones that look after livestock. I raised them, but when they grew up, I set them free.
Ah, ok, I understand. These that you show do not speak, they only show the beauty of their plumage. I don't remember the color of the ones mom had, maybe they are the yellow ones.
I'm glad you freed yours.
I have in captivity quails, which are commercial birds. They are raised to sell their eggs and meat.
I remember that when I started on the platform I read many of your posts, among them you talked about your quails.
That's how she cared for them, and also with regard to the eggs. By the way, I love them.
Greetings.
Wow, I didn't know what you're saying. My quail have crossed borders and I didn't know it, hehehe.
It's true! quail eggs are very tasty.
Thank you so much for your support.
Wishing you success and blessings.
Gracias por tus bendiciones.
In our country, there were some that had a red stripe on their necks, called talking parrots, and they were very popular among people, and their market rates were also very high.
