RE: Contest - week 3 - “Share and comment on your image.” Winner week 2
This is the last landscape I made with soft pastels. A few old, dry, crumbled crayons that were present at the painting class and that no one uses.
It's not painting, of course, but simply using crayons on paper. You have to rub the colors together vigorously until a soft glow appears and the colors cover the paper and blend together. That hard rubbing, by the way, is quite a challenge. I already told the teacher I'm injuring my shoulder from it. Still, I took those crayons home for the second time, along with pastel pencils, which, incidentally, work very differently from the crayons.
To be honest, I'm not at all interested in drawing or painting landscapes, but the truth is that I don't have much time for what I actually want to learn. So I'm trying out more different techniques just to get some work done. Unfortunately, I don't have time for larger projects right now.
When I have more time, I want to practice more portrait drawing, or at least something derived from it. To be honest, I expected to have tons of time these past three months, but unfortunately, that hasn't been the case (my own fault). But seriously, I'm starting again on Sunday (LOL).
BTW, if I were to draw a landscape, I think I'd sooner do mountains or a volcano. I think that's what @suryati1 always drew in school.

By the way: years ago I sat at the table and didn't know what to draw. I just let the pencil do it's job. I always ended up with mountains in the distance and a girl in the front standing on the top of a rock or some part of a mountain.
Who knows that was you.

I think it's great that you are spending time perfecting painting techniques.
I really like nature landscapes but I think they are complicated to do because of their tones.
I hope you can really start again on Sunday.
This photo has beautiful tones, I couldn't imitate it. I have no knowledge about painting or drawing, so it is not something that attracts me.
I want that after I finish making so many arrangements at home that I can go out to do some activity that allows me to distract myself from work.
If it comes to art I doubt colour matters but still it's pisdible to mix with soft pastels which are crayons by layering and next rubbing it out. I agree with you that realistic paintings aren't easy but what's the point of copying if you can take a photo?
I hope you find something soon, a hobby outside the house to distract your mind and which helps to relax.

I haven't heard from the beach house again. I think they took it away from me. I don't have a vehicle to go and public transportation leaves me very far from home. The place is very wild right now, there are many criminals loose everywhere.
For now I have gone out to buy substrate and fertilizer for my plants, so I have something to occupy my mind again, with planting and transplanting.
Who knows the house is still there and waits and even criminals lost there interest since in cities is more to gain.
You are lucky you can plant through the year. I intended to plant some seeds pressed in paper provided by the city during the festival but next it started freezing and now I am too tired to remove the tiles. ☹️
Yes, you're right, who knows what's happening in that house these days. Someday I will return there.
You are already used to the changes of season in your place of residence.
Yes, I think I am very lucky, it is something that calms me, the art of sowing, transplanting, harvesting. I thank God that I can do it whenever I can.
