The history next to us

There are a lot of different historical areas around in Scotland, many of them good preserved and thank the state heritage program, it is possible to keep them in good condition with regular restoration and also due to be open for public they have regular donation from many charity organisations who keep the history alive.

The series of photography that I wanted to present today have their historical value and also that shows how skilful the people were in old time despite of having no educational opportunity like we do have nowadays they were made from strong materials, like stones and also majority of the buildings are preserved by nature despite of rough wet and windy weather here.

The fist photo we did in a cellar like area, but it had tall ceiling so that one can fully stand up, there was a separate space on the side no idea what was it used for. The walls are strong and it is cool there, I wonder if that the place for storing the food like fridge in modern time.

Here is the picture of the space in wall, it was an observation point in old time where the warriors were keeping an eye on horizon of the sea, making sure that if there was any ship that they see it in time and warn people about the danger.

This is what is left from the castle, you can see that some wall completely gone but some walls are preserved. It is impressive how thick the walls are and despite of only few of them are there the rest of building is still there. Often when I see such ruins I ask myself if there will be someone who would be able to restore initial building in historical shape if that would be possible to sell and for people to live in them? Who knows, that might be to expensive to restore the buildings.

*At the end it looks great blue sky, sandstone, green grass, it feels like we are back in time.
