Hello everyone, this week we are back once again in the Healthy Steem community and for this week our topic is "Ancient Medicine."

Ancient Medicine is the sort of topic that I have to deal with almost everyday in the OPDs. This is something people firmly believe in. I'd take this post as an opportunity to debunk a lot of facts associated with Ancient Medicine. So without any further adieu let's begin.

"کمزور جسم کو موٹا بنائیں" "Make your weak body, healthy." Ancient Medicine has deep roots in Pakistan. Around every corner you'll find a "Baba Hakeem, Baba Asad bengali" and these guys would be advertising their ancient medicines which according to them cures impotence, short heights, muscle weakness, body fat, basically everything that you could think of. This always makes me wonder how come they're doing everything in such cheap rates, in such a short period of time without any side effects, whereas the doctors and the scientists find it hard to cure these things in such a short period of time?

This led me to actually find out about these people and what I found out was jaw dropping. These guys in reality are scammers. You know what the majority of them do? I'll explain it to you by presenting a scenario.

You walk into the 'hospital' of this baba. A guy at the entrance will stop you. He'll ask you what issue brings you here. You'll mention that you have midney stones. The guy will send a signal through his device to the 'baba' who's sitting in a room inside. Now, when you enter this baba's room, he already knows what's up with you. He'll make you sit in the room. Pretend to do some crazy stuff, like talking to someone invisible, moving his hands in air as if trying to catch something. You'll be intrigued by watching all this and then he'll tell you that he knows you're here due to kidney issues.

That's it. Checkmate. You're stunned. How did this baba know I'm here due to kidney stones? From now on you'll believe every bullshit thing that he utters.

Now, this was one tangent of ancient medicines in Pakistan, where we saw how these people scam the public. The other side is pretty ethical and even helps in regaining the normal functions of the body. This side works with natural things and herbs. Ancient Medicine, as I mentioned is very popular in Pakistan, we get all sorts of things. Such as, as a doctor, if you have cough, I'd prescribe you cough syrup, but here we cure it with ginger honey and black pepper. Why? Because it's much more beneficial than medicines and it actually works. We still have Greek Medicine very commonly used over here.

People, specially in rural areas, use only ancient medicines to cure their ill ones. There's nothing wrong in it to be honest. Doctors usually don't support ancient medicines but in my opinion there's nothing wrong in consuming natural things.

Wellll.... I'm not a big fan of these things. You can't blame me for this can you? Ever since I have grown up, all I've seen is Pharmacology, Pathology, Physiology being discussed in my family. My elder brothers and both of my parents are doctors so you can see where I'm headed with this.

To be honest, I never believed in ancient medicines. I called it a ripoff and why shouldn't I? I have always been treated with modern medicines, always been taught about modern medicines and brought up in an atmosphere where ancient medicines were never used so naturally I was never a fan of these meds.

But now I have modified my beliefs. Not completely but to an extent. I have come to a realization that natural things do help in things. Read again, I said natural things, not those things made up by "hakeems" amd ****baba"*** who claim to have knowledge of the unseen and medicines from heaven lmao.

I believe that these things such as ginger, cinnamon, lemon, chia seeds etc can be very beneficial for your body. If used in the right way, you can obtain a lot of advantages from it.

There are a lot of things that have been used as ancient medicines. The best thing about them? All of them originate from natural resources. For example:

• Ginger has been used widely to cure chest congestion. Ginger also helps with cough. Ginger is also an excellent antioxidant. It is still widely used almost in every household as a natural cure for chest congestion and flu.

• for gastric issues coriander has been widely used alongside lemon. These items are also found in ancient medicines as a lot of Medicines are made up from these stuff.

I designed this scenario based picture from pixlr and boy oh boy this is such a beautiful picture. This is probably the first time I have used AI to generate a picture and I had no idea AI is thatt good in this stuff

Anyway, I designed this scenario as a greek herbologist and a philosopher is busy in his work creating medicine that would bring cure to a disease that has been harming his community for a long time
He seems to be indulged deeply into his mission as he cannot near any other person dying due to not having any cure.
