SEC-S16/W6 "The Science of Aging"
INTRODUCTION
Greetings to all my steemians friends, i welcome you all to this week challenge. Thank you to healthy steem for coming up with this insightful topic "The Science of Aging". My fellow steemians i hope you all are sound and hearty. I am very good too.
Aging is a gradual, and a continuous process of natural changes that begins in early childhood. This process goes on over the entire lifespan of an adult. As we proceed through adulthood, all of our vitals organs starts losing some degree of functionality.
What is the medical process behind aging and from which age it actually starts.
The medical process behind aging is associated with changes in biological, psychological, chronological and social processes. Some age-related changes are not posing any serious threat, such as grey hair. People do not become old at any specific age. History has it that old age begins at 65.
BIOLOGICAL AGE: This is the physical changes in the body that occur as people age.
PSYCHOLOGICAL AGE: This is the psychological changes that occur based on how people think or feel.
CHRONOLOGICAL AGE: This is based on how long a person has existed on earth. The number of seconds, minutes, hour, days, months, and years.
SOCIAL AGE: This is the changes that occur in a person's behavior, roles and relationship as the person aged.
I am afraid of getting old because there are a lot of opportunities that passes older people. Even when you are not yet old, as you advance in age, so many companies are employing below 25 years.
Challenges of Aging that is making me afraid of getting older are;
Many elderly people still have the strength, and willing to work past the standard retirement age, but the opportunities are not there. Managing a day to day finances and planning for later life can be very challenging for older people. I would not want to face this.
A person's mobility and skills will naturally change as they aged. Which makes completing everyday task more difficult because the bones may be weak and does not have strength to work.
As a result of not being able to do things by yourself because of weakness in the bones or old age, this will call for special attention for you to be cared for. This automatically returns you to a child as you were being cared for. Some caregivers may be given to you which they cam take care of you well or may not.
The diet you consume everyday is related to your health. A healthy lifestyle may not stop aging, but it can slow it down.
I will choose my nutritional items in three categories which are;
Fruit
Vegetables
Nuts
• In the category of fruit, i choose AVOCADO
Avocado is an anti-aging food that is loaded with a combination of nutrients and photochemical.
•It prevents tissues or cells which were not functioning to change for the worse over time.
•It helps in preventing cardiovascular issues, inflammatory conditions, diabetes and cancer.
•It is rich in protein, and has minerals like high potassium and low sodium to regulate blood pressure.
• In the category of Vegetables, i choose ORANGE COLOURED VEGETABLES
Orange coloured vegetables such as carrot and pumpkins will help you have young skin even as you age.
•It is rich in vitamin A called beta- carotene.
•It improves your skin ability to stay protected against UV rays.
• In the category of Nuts, i choose FLAX SEED
Flax seeds are in in omega-3 fats like alpha- linoleic acid, fibre and lignans.
•It is good for TYPE 2 diabetic patients.
•It enhances skin health by making it smooth and hydrating the skin to lower aging signs.
•It also prevent breast cancer and regulate hormones.
• AEROBICS: This is a physical activity which a large muscles group in the body is engaged in rhythmic and repetitive exercise. Examples of such exercises are;
Walking, jogging, swimming, cycling and cardio equipment.
It increases the heart rate, and reduces the risk of heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
• REACTION TRAINING: This type of exercise includes playing a sport such as tennis. This improves the body, reaction time, ability to retain information and change in direction while still maintaining balance.
• SQUATS: This exercise reverses aging by building the density of the bone. By squatting, you workout the entire body, the hamstring, the hips and the glutes in particular.
It improves balance and coordination.
In conclusion, lifestyle choices affecting your diet, exercise and sleep can also affect the rate at which you sleep.

I getting why you are scared of aging, and your point makes sense, besides we all are not fine with the challenges it comes with. However, on my side, I ain't scared since it's an inevitable process, the best we can do is prepare for it. I like the way you listed the nutritional items and I relate to that. Vegetables and fruits add up minerals that are lacking during aging to reverse or slow down the process. Of course squatting is a good exercise to build up the bones, just I I also listed in my entry.

Aging is a gradual and natural process, it does not need one's permission before it can set in, the part you said you are afraid of getting old cracked me up. My dear whether you are afraid or not, when it is time, it will surely come knocking. But one is while we are still young we need to build our lives and lay our beds well, so that when we grow older we won't become a burden to our children or the society. Success to you dear

Aging is a natural process that everyone goes through, but there are ways to slow down and even reverse some of its effects. By making healthy lifestyle choices such as consuming a diet rich in anti-aging foods like avocado, orange-colored vegetables, and flax seeds, you can prevent premature aging and keep your body functioning at its best.
