Museums are a very favorite place for everyone. People of all ages, especially children, are very interested in visiting museums. And if that museum is the Folk and Crafts Museum of Bangladesh, then it brings us double joy because it tells us about the heritage of Bangladesh. I have seen some very old traditional art of Bangladesh that was used by our ancestors and some of these items are still being used today. You have to buy a ticket to enter here and the ticket price is 50 BDT or about 6 steem per person. There is a gate to enter. We collect the ticket and enter inside.

The first thing that caught my attention after entering here was its green trees and grass. I was impressed by it because nowadays in the city there are very few opportunities to walk on such green grass. Also, for the convenience of tourists, thatched roofs have been made here so that tourists can sit and rest here.

Paintings of Zainul Abedin

Then we reached the main building of this museum and saw a mural in front of the building which is of the very famous artist of Bangladesh, Shilpacharya Zoynal Abedin. Basically, this museum has many of his paintings preserved which are considered as the assets of Bangladesh. And after taking the entrance, some of his paintings have been displayed here for the public to see. I am sharing some of the paintings with you, one of his famous paintings.

Palqui

After entering the museum, we saw wooden door which used in ancient Bangladesh and the most amazing thing was the palqui. In the past, during a wedding in Bangladesh, the bride was taken from her house to her husband's house in a palqui. And the palqui were carried by men on their shoulders. At that time, wooden wheels were not even invented. We saw a wooden swinging stand with beautiful and traditional work.

Ancient War instruments and Royal wears

It was very neat and tidy. Each item was stored in a glass box so that people could easily see it but they were kept securely in a glass box so that they would not be damaged by touching it. There are shields and swords used in ancient wars. I have never seen these before. I am seeing them for the first time. Also, jewelry used by members of the royal family is stored here.

We also saw some traditional wooden goods there, including bullock carts. In ancient times, one of the means of transportation or the only means was bullock and buffalo carts. They were driven by wooden wheels. Also, another means of transportation was wooden boats. These boats were made in different shapes, but at that time most of the boats were made in the shape of peacocks, which you can see clearly in these showpieces. Wooden houses were a tradition of this country. Many years ago, even two-story houses were made of cardboard. Such wooden houses can still be seen in some places.

Ancient Pottery

Bangladesh was once rich in pottery. There are various ancient pottery artifacts here that people used for their daily needs. There are also several showpieces that are elephants, horses, boats, dolls of various animals. I like one of the most beautiful things in ancient pottery, which is the pot. Rice was once cooked and eaten in these, but nowadays, these clay pots and pans are very hard to see.

Nakshi Katha (Traditional Stitch)

Another golden thing in the history of Bangladesh is hand craft. The girls of the villages of Bangladesh used to draw various designs on the cloth using needle and thread. In the picture, you can see a map of Bangladesh drawn very beautifully with needle and thread. Besides, Nakshi Kantha of Bangladesh is still very popular in the world. Here are many collections of Nakshi Kantha and various stitches, which you will understand that Bangladesh is really rich in folk art. Along with Nakshi Kantha, one of the traditional parts of Bangladesh is Jamdani cloth. Weavers prepare Jamdani with their own hands using fine yarn of excellent karpash cotton.
