Betterlife - The Diary Game | 29 August, 2025 | participating in a welcoming Julus and enjoying the afternoon by the sea
Hello friends, Assalamu Alaikum, I hope you all are well. Last Thursday marked the beginning of the Arabic month of Rabi' al-Awwal. This month is a source of great blessings and mercy for devout Muslims, as it was in this month that our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came into the world, an event that marked the beginning of Islam's journey on Earth.
So, on the 12th of this month in the Arabic calendar, which is September 5th, a large procession, or Julus, will be organized in our city of Chittagong. In celebration of the Prophet's arrival, a small welcoming Julus was held in our Upazila, Sitakunda. The time was set for around 3 PM. I also attended the rally to celebrate the joy of the Prophet's arrival.

After performing the Jummah prayer and having lunch at home, I and some of my neighbors rode our motorcycles to the Sitakunda Upazila area. Although a bus was provided from our area to make it easier for everyone to go, as the destination was a bit far. Upon arriving, the senior members of our Gausia community first gave some short welcoming speeches.
Then, we all began the Julus as a rally. The custom of the Julus is for everyone to recite blessings upon the Prophet and chant religious slogans together in celebration of his arrival. I walked forward with everyone, reciting Naat-e-Mustafa and Durood. Since this was a small, welcoming Julus, the program concluded with a final prayer at a section of the Upazila road.
Several other special religious programs will be organized in our area during this blessed Arabic month. Anyway, the program was completed by 5 PM. The day was a Friday, a holiday, and since I was with some friends from my area and there was still some daylight left, we decided to visit Akilpur Sea Beach and left the program area.
As soon as we got off the motorcycles at the beach, we had the opportunity to enjoy the stunning and beautiful view of the vast sea. The sky was a bit cloudy, but standing on the shore and watching the meeting of the sea and the sky gave a unique sense of peace to my mind. The pleasant breeze all around felt wonderful.

As it was a Friday, the beach was a bit crowded with visitors, although it's not usually this busy. At the same time, tourist areas don't really come alive without a good number of people. Targeting the visitors, some local people had set up stalls selling fried snacks on the side of the beach. Although you won't find expensive, luxurious food there, you can find some of people's favorite fried foods. In the afternoon, the feeling just isn't right without enjoying some tea by the sea.

We ordered fried potato snack with our tea. They were very soft and hot, and tasted delicious. There were 6 pieces per plate, and the price was 40 Taka. It came with a small salad of sliced cucumbers and onions. I ate two, and that was enough to fill me up.
I don't usually take many photos, but when I'm by the sea, I can't help but do some photography. Why wouldn't I want to, with such a beautiful scene in front of me? The moment becomes even more special as sunset approaches. In addition to pictures, I tried to capture some videos of these moments. Although I'm not a professional, I'm sharing a video taken on a 3x zoom with you.
After sunset, the roar of the waves grew louder. In the slightly dark environment around, the sound of the waves felt like an extraordinary tune to my bare ears. We left the beach area around 7 PM to head home, but on the way, I stopped at a bakery to buy something for the house.
I initially thought of buying something like buns, but my favorite types weren't available. There were various kinds of sweets there, but I particularly like Sana'r Sandesh. Its taste is superior to the others, and it's also more expensive. After buying my desired amount, I paid the bill and returned home.
