Is This Love?

Pretty dark skinned girl
Why do you dance alone?
Come within my arms
And rest your head,
Feel my heart thump
And move with me.

Pretty dark skinned girl
What you looking at,
The moon, the weaving trees?
Come to my side,
Let me close you inside me
And show you other natural wonders
Yonder sights will never see.

I envy the sun
Of seeing you more
And the moon for hearing your sighs.
I wish I was the wind
So I could play with your locks,
And sometimes at night
I want to be walls
So I could watch you sleep.

I envy the floor
That you walk on for
It feels the warmth of your path,
And when the rain beats you,
I dearly wish I was
The warmth of a duvet.

I wish I was beside you,
To exchange stories
And write new ones,
To build strong bridges
And breathe the same air,
To hear your laugh,
To see your smile.
I wish.

I wonder about what
Your skin will feel like to touch,
Will it burn, will it scald?
I wander in my thoughts,

If my bones are strong enough
To hold your fires within me,
If my waters can bank your tempest
And if we can become perfect
In the splendour of all the beauty
That a wild consuming fire
And a length of ice could bring

I wonder at what
It would be like to be
Consumed by your fires,
To bask in your heat
And watch you cackle
And throw sparks to the ether.

This is me attempting to do something out of my comfort zone, and honouring The Ink Well's poetry prompt this week. My writing are usually dark themed even when I try to scribble poetry. This too is addressed to a woman. I haven't written anything like it before, so it's different.

Just before you start to think that I'm beginning to write good poetry, blame @warpedpoetic. It's his fault. Everything is his fault by the way.
