We are entering the fifth week of the "A Street Journalist in a Day" series. This week's theme is The Struggle of Street hawkers. Every day, thousands of hawkers struggle for their livelihood on the sidewalks, alleys, bus stands, railway stations, and markets of our city. Some are selling clothes, others are selling fruits, shoe stores, or small household items. But their path in this business is never easy. Evictions, police harassment, sidewalk encroachment, or lack of buyers are new challenges they face every day.

General Business Context Of The Challenge

This week, your job as a journalist is to tell the story of the lives of these street vendors. Their hardships, hopes and struggles to survive. Tell the real story of a hawker or hawker on the sidewalk or roadside. You will have to go directly to that roadside shop. It should be any business on the ground in the open as per the list below. You will have to go to that place and observe, take pictures and if possible, conduct a short interview. If you can conduct a short interview with them, then this will be a proof of an important journalistic role for you. How their business runs, how they survive in adverse conditions, will be the main subject of your report. You can also choose another type of hawker business if you want, but it must be a sidewalk or roadside hawkers business.

You will need to choose one of the topics from the list Below. You must show a picture of that street hawkers.

What You Must Share & Contest Objectives and Your Role

The point is that you think of yourself as a journalist and say, "You need to review one of the services on the list above."

In this competition I will ask you to find any one of the street hawkers business in your city. If possible, grab a microphone and conduct a business interview with the shopkeeper like a journalist. You have to choose any one of the street hawkers shop and share the story of that shop. You cannot review multiple shops. You can only create a report on any business as per the list above. However, you have to go to that street hawkers place and take the picture shown below as proof. You can write it on a paper.

Required Media: Photos+Videos+Location

Each entry must include a photo of any street hawkers mentioned and a few basic photos of the business being reviewed. You must show the batch shown above (to prove your authenticity). You must take the photos yourself. They must show the shop, services, prices and public demand. You must create a video of at least 1 minute and upload it to YouTube with a link. After uploading the video, check your markdown.
