A few days ago, I visited Parbatipur Railway Junction, one of the busiest stations in my city. Railway stations are always full of life, people are always coming, going, waiting, or grabbing a quick meal before their journey.

Just beside the station, there’s a popular eatery named Kutum Bari Restaurant. It’s located so close that you can reach it in less than a minute from Platform No. 1. This convenient location gives the restaurant a big advantage because travelers can easily stop by for a quick bite or take food for their journey.

For many passengers, Kutum Bari becomes a perfect place to relax, eat, or recharge before their train departs.

I’ve personally eaten there several times, and I must say the food quality has improved a lot recently. They’ve also introduced a variety of traditional sweets beautifully displayed near the entrance to attract customers. I tried their Barfi and Kalojam, both of which were fresh and delicious.
At present, the variety of sweets available in Kutum Bari Restaurant was not always part of their collection. In the past, this restaurant was mostly known for its traditional food items such as steamed rice, different types of curries, roti, paratha, and a few popular snacks.
However, over time, they have expanded their menu and added more variety. Especially after introducing different kinds of sweets, the restaurant has become even more appealing to passengers and regular customers.

Affordable Prices– Prices are reasonable compared to other restaurants, which attracts budget-conscious travelers. The combination of good taste and affordability makes it popular among both locals and travelers.

Friendly Managers and Staff– The staff here are usually young and polite. They help customers choose the right food and try their best to serve quickly and kindly, which leaves a good impression. The managers were also very friendly, they allowed me to take pictures of Kutum Bari restaurant.
Fast Service– Since many passengers are in a rush, the restaurant prioritizes quick service. The staff are skilled at serving freshly made food in a short time so that customers can finish their meal before their train arrives.
Live Cooking & Display– You can often see food being prepared right at the entrance, or displayed attractively, which naturally draws people in.
04 Are these businesses creating employment opportunities for local unemployed youth?

Yes, absolutely, restaurants like Kutum Bari play an important role in creating jobs for local young people. I noticed several young staff members working there. These restaurants provide excellent employment opportunities for unemployed youth who can cook, clean, serve, and deliver food. For many of them, this job is a good way to gain experience, earn income, and support their families.
Conclusion
Overall, Kutum Bari Restaurant is a great spot beside the railway station, perfect for travelers who want a quick meal, rest, or refreshment before their journey. Though not everything is perfect, it’s a comfortable and convenient place for both locals and passengers.
Previously, this restaurant was known as Muktijoddha Restaurant. In fact, you can still find it on Google Maps under that old name. However, the name has recently been changed to Kutum Bari Restaurant. It’s quite possible that the ownership has also changed, otherwise, such a major transformation in both the restaurant’s name and menu would be unlikely.
That being said, these changes seem to have brought a fresh appeal. Since it’s located right beside the railway station, a few upgrades were definitely needed to attract more customers and keep up with the growing competition in the area.
