In modern urban life, the transportation system is inextricably linked to people's daily movement and economic activities. The vitality, busyness and social mobility of a city are most clearly reflected in its transportation hubs. In a busy metropolis like Dhaka, millions of people travel from one place to another every day, the center of which has become various important transportation hubs. I recently visited Mirpur-1 Transportation Center to gain first-hand experience about the real picture, facilities and management of these transportation hubs. In the light of this visit, detailed description is presented below.

Which Transport Hub or Station have you visited? Give brief information.

I recently visited Mirpur-1 Transportation Center in Dhaka. It is a very important and busy transportation hub of the capital, where numerous buses, minibuses, Lagunas and other vehicles connecting different parts of the city ply regularly. This transportation hub, built around Mirpur-1 roundabout, is the mainstay of thousands of passengers every day.

What facilities and services are available there? How is the management, cleanliness and ticket system? (Show photos + video)

The Mirpur-1 transport hub has several basic facilities and services for passengers. Buses of various routes are easily available here, so passengers can select their destination vehicle within a short time. It is relatively active in terms of management, although bus stops are fixed, some chaos can be observed during busy periods. The standard of cleanliness is maintained at a moderate level; although it is cleaned regularly, it becomes challenging to keep it clean at all times due to the pressure of additional passengers.Ticket management is still mainly conductor-dependent. Although some buses have fixed fare lists, the lack of modern e-ticket or automatic ticketing system is noticeable.
