RE: Motivational FAILURE...

in OCD6 years ago

We as humans have been taught all our lives that pain, failure, suffering and other "negative" things are bad and to be avoided at all costs. The philosophers have been saying that only through the embrace of our failures and suffering will we truly learn to live. I find the philosophers to be far more correct than the teachings of society.

Yep.

Mirrors the Buddhist philosophy of pain being inevitable, but suffering optional based on our attachment/detachment to it.

And if we were to look at it from a different angle, basically this dynamic is the root of all addiction - seeking to escape/avoid the negative, pursuing only the positive...

Life is one long "chasing the dragon". I fall in to the trap regularly as well and need my doses to remind me.
