SC-S29/W2- Nostalgia del pequeño yo: Mis días de escuela
Greetings to all. When I tell my children about my school days, they say I have an elephant's memory because, at 50, I remember things from preschool with such accuracy that I can recall even the most specific details. Yes, but this time I want to talk about a very beautiful memory from second grade, one that holds a very special place in my mind and heart. I think this day will be hard to forget because I relive it every time I talk about it. One day, Rafael and I were taken to a drawing competition. It was one of the most wonderful things I've ever experienced. On that occasion, I drew a lovely landscape: a beach with palm trees, birds, and several people enjoying the scenery. What was amazing was that we won coloring books as a prize. I felt a little scared when I started high school; more than scared, it was a bit apprehensive because of the experiences other classmates had shared with me, since I was going to be surrounded by older kids and the studies were more independent. Over time, all of that faded and I gained confidence, which allowed me to have a normal school life and a lot of self-confidence. I also had the support of my mother, my teachers, and my classmates. Most of my teachers were very dedicated people, with a true vocation for teaching. I only remember one who stood out for her strong character: demanding, strict, with almost military discipline. Undoubtedly, the way she treated us distanced us from the affection we might have felt for her. Today I understand that perhaps she did it by order, but at the time, we only felt rigidity. But they were all important to me and motivated me to keep going on my path. As were my friends, especially my dear Cándida: a young woman with a firm character, but with a huge heart. She always showed me her affection and encouraged me not to give up, especially in the most difficult moments. Her support was, and continues to be, a great strength in my life. People with strong character and total dedication always strive for excellence, not for recognition, but out of conviction. One such lesson marked my life in second grade: a simple yet profound experience that taught me that fulfilling responsibilities isn't just a duty, but the first step toward deserving the outcome. From then on, I knew that honest effort always pays off. Although I was only seven years old and didn't meet the requirements to advance, I had to repeat the grade. I don't remember if it hurt at the time, but today I see it clearly: it was a valuable learning experience. I learned that mistakes aren't failures, but necessary pauses to grow stronger. My school days were a great school of life, where every experience taught me something profound. I learned that perseverance and responsibility are not just virtues, but pillars of being a good citizen. And I knew, from an early age, that the dedication of each teacher was key to my development: they not only taught me subjects, but also values that still guide my steps. Furthermore, having such special friends makes a huge difference. Repeating a year wasn't a step backward, but a springboard forward: it strengthened me, taught me patience and determination. Thanks to all that potential, I persevered, overcame every challenge, and became the professional I am today, with pride and confidence. Rodeada de personas importantes en el aprendizaje
Valorar el esfuerzo es importante

Greetings,
Thank you so much for participating in the contest.
I really enjoyed reading your writing. Taking part in a drawing competition during childhood and winning a prize is truly memorable. I also used to participate in drawing competitions when I was a child. Back then, there were no smartphones, and activities like these felt genuinely joyful. We didn’t realize it at that time, but happiness doesn’t always come from big achievements, it often lives quietly in small moments.
Feeling fear and uncertainty at the beginning of school life is very natural. What I appreciated most is how you gradually turned that fear into confidence and were able to return to a normal school life with the support of your family, teachers, and classmates. This part of your story was amazing.
You shared some wonderful thoughts about teachers. From your article, it’s clear how important teachers are in shaping our school life. At the same time, you didn’t forget to mention the role of your friends, which shows how grateful you are for their presence and support.
You are absolutely right that repeating a year was not a failure for you, but rather a way to become stronger. Teachers truly are one of the main pillars of success in school life, because students learn not only lessons, but also values and discipline from them.
Gracias por la verificación y tan excelente reflexión de mi participación.
Te confieso que disfrute mucho, recordar cada detalle y escribir cada línea.
¡Me encantó participar!
