I tried my best- No Flies
I set out for Agricultural University buzzing with excitement to capture some rare flies or intriguing insects for my blog.
The sprawling campus, with its lush fields and research greenhouses, promised a treasure trove of winged wonders but those elusive pests that we see daily.
I'd packed my Samsung Galaxy A56, macro lens ready, envisioning epic shots of iridescent flies darting among the crops.
But disappointment stung harder than any bee. Not a single fly in sight. No aphids, no beetles, just vast emptiness under the afternoon sun.
The only buzz came from honeybees swarming a cluster of flowering shrubs, aggressive little ones flying from one flower to other.
One dive-bombed my camera; another grazed my arm, risking a nasty bite. Heart pounding, I fired off a few hasty shots, their golden bodies blurring in the frenzy. No artistry, just survival snaps.
Back to my scooter, and empty-handed, the letdown hit. What a wasted outing, no unique footage for my contest blog, no poetic post on local biodiversity.
this agricultural heart should teem with life, yet it felt sterile, sanitized. My morning effort all shattered, replaced by frustration.
Next time, perhaps dusk or a different area. For now, honeybee close calls are all I've got, bittersweet souvenirs of a hunt gone wrong.
