The diary game. Winter Chores, Wazwan Work, and a Beautiful Family Feast
Hello, dear friends! How is everyone doing? I hope you are all well and enjoying your time with your loved ones, no matter where you are. Today, I want to share another day of my life with you all. I hope you find some time to read my post and that you find it enjoyable enough to upvote.
Today I had to rise early because, besides my household chores, I also had to visit my maternal cousins and maternal uncles, who had invited us for a meal. My brother and his wife, as a newly wedded couple, were invited on the occasion of the commencement of their new phase of life. For that reason, I was quick to get up very early in the morning and straightaway offered the morning prayers in the nearby mosque. After that, I returned home and took some more rest, as the mornings are quite cold these days, and staying outside or doing any physical activity in such weather is harmful due to the increased chances of stroke, as doctors often advise through electronic and print media.
After getting some more sleep early in the morning, I had my breakfast and, without any delay, went to help them with the work. Since my maternal home is just a kilometre away, it did not take me long to reach there. Upon reaching, I immediately got into the work assigned to me, which was mincing the meat or cutting it into very small pieces suitable for moulding into rod-like shapes, which we call kebabs in the Kashmiri Wazwan terminology. After finishing that task, I helped with other work like making salad and preparing different items required for the arrival of guests.
It was quite a time-consuming job, and since we are going through winter days here in the valley of Kashmir, the days are short. In just a blink of an eye, the day passed, and I was able to finish only a few of the tasks assigned to me. I also spent some time with the chef, who taught me a few tips on how to make different varieties served in Wazwan, and I was more than pleased to learn these things because they may come in handy at any point in life.
Later, I returned home to get ready and to take my family members along. I reached home quickly, got ready, and informed the rest of my family to do the same. They took some time to get ready, and finally, at around 8 PM, we left our place. On our way to the maternal home, we had to buy some items to be carried as gifts, so I stopped at the market and bought them.
We reached our maternal home and were warmly welcomed with the famous Kashmiri Kehwa. It truly made my day because it was so specially prepared and so tasty that I feel I will never forget it. While enjoying the Kehwa, everyone sat together and had a pleasant chat. Later, at around 9 PM, we had dinner. It was a special dinner in the typical Kashmiri style, where four people share food in one plate, enjoying the meal with a strong bond of love and compassion.
At around 10 PM, we returned home. After going through social media for a while, I went to sleep.
Thank you for going through my post. Have a great time ahead.
