In our region, various types of fried foods and snacks are made with gram flour, among which the popular ones are beguni, piayaju, alur chop, dal bara, gram flour bread, and gram flour laddu among the sweets. One popular dish cooked in steam is gram flour dhokla, which is a Gujarati dish but is also quite popular in Bangladesh. Some pithas or sweets made with gram flour are also steamed. Dhokla, made from a mixture of gram flour and spices, is steamed, which is very healthy and soft. Gram flour is rich in protein and fiber.

Make the "Khaman Dhokla (Gram Flour Cake)" or any similar dish that are shared in the course, or make them as per your style, with a detailed step-by-step procedure along with images.

Step 3:

I took two cups of gram flour in a mixing bowl, mixed it with one spoon of sugar, turmeric powder, one spoon of oil and salt to taste. Then I added lemon juice to the flour and stirred everything together.

Step 4:

At this stage, I added a little water and mixed it well with a whisk. While mixing, mix well so that there are no lumps in the flour. I added a little water and kept mixing until the mixture thickened like a smooth batter. The more I stirred, the softer and spongier the dhokla would be.

Step 7:

In the meantime, I put a pan on the stove and fried the mustard seeds and green chilies well with some oil. Then I added a cup of water and when the water boiled, I added sugar and salt. Then I stirred everything and brought it to a boil. At this stage, the sugar syrup was made. Then I kept the sugar syrup aside to cool.

Step 8:

After steaming for fifteen minutes, I opened the lid, took out the mold, and inverted the gram flour pitha onto another plate to unmold it. Then I cut it into the desired shape with a knife. Of course, the pitha should not be kept too hot while cutting.
