Color changing chameleon

Yesterday, a chameleon appeared near my home, and my husband captured it on video. I am going to write about that experience here. Initially, as the chameleon was moving along the ground, it appeared green. However, the moment it spotted us, it tried to run and hide. My husband followed right behind it, continuing to film the entire time. When it touched a black wall, its body shifted in color to shades of gray and black, and its tail curled up. Neither my son nor I had never seen a colorchanging chameleon before; this was my very first time witnessing one. We were absolutely delighted to see it, but deciding not to disturb it any further, we left it alone.
