Steemit Challenge Season-30 Week-2 || "Traditional Steam Cooking- Raagi Puttu(Steamed Finger Millet Cake)"
Hi friends, dear steemians
Welcome to the 2nd week of Season 30 of the Steemit Learning Challenge. I want to express my gratitude to @steemitblog for this chance. Every week in this course, we will examine the ingredients, cooking methods, and health advantages of traditional steam cooking foods. I hope you enjoy and continue to support these interesting contests each week.
The healthy traditional steam cooking
As I said last week Steaming is one of the cooking methods that our ancestors have taught us. Since it does not add oil, this cooking method is considered a healthy cooking method. The dishes prepared this way are delicious and healthy. If you include steamed foods in your daily diet, you will not get problems like cancer, heart disease, weight gain, digestive problems, and high blood cholesterol.
I would like to introduce you to another healthy steamed dish this week called "Raagi Puttu(Steamed Finger Millet Cake)". This is a pudding made with ragi flour ( Finger millet flour). It is very easy to make. You can make a very healthy food in less time. It is very popular with children because of the addition of sugar and coconut. It is even better if you add cane sugar instead of white sugar.

Raagi Puttu(Steamed Finger Millet Cake) with steam
STEP 1:
Take 2 cups of ragi(Finger Millet ) flour, put it in a pan and roast it on low flame.
STEP 2:
Put the roasted ragi (Finger Millet ) flour in a bowl, add required amount of salt, add water little by little and knead it well with your palms. While mixing, the flour should not be lumpy, that is, it should form a ball when pressed in your hand.
STEP 3:
Pour water into the vessel and bring to a boil.
STEP 4:
Take a plate(It would be good if there were a plate with holes), spread a cotton cloth on it and spread the mixed dough on it. Then take it out and put it in a pot of boiling water, cover it and steam it, making sure that the water does not touch it.
STEP 5:
Steam the dough for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, open the oven, take out the plate, and transfer the dough that is still steaming on the cloth to a plate.
STEP 6:
For aroma and taste, take two cardamom pods, grind them in a mixer grinder, add the powder to the flour on the plate and mix.
STEP 7:
Break a coconut and grate it to shower on the boiled dough
STEP 8:
Now add 2 table spoons of sugar and grated coconut to the boiled dough and mix well.
