Contest|| "My Favorite Sportsman"|| Babar Azam

Hello Steemians! Its @abdullahw2 here. A warm welcome to my post. How are you all? I hope that you will be doing well by the grace of Almighty Allah. I'm also fine and enjoying my day. Today I'm here to participate in this amazing contest which is organized by @aaliarubab in the Steem For Pakistan community. The topic of this contest is My Favorite Sportsman. So let's start without any more delay of time.

As in sports I like cricket so my favorite sportsman Is also a cricketer. Yes Babar Azam is my favorite sportsman. Currently he is the all format captain of Pakistan cricket team This Year he was also the captain of Pishawar zalmi in the Pakistan Super League. He is the more consistent batter in the world after Virat Kohli. He is a right hand and a middle order batter but in T20s he opens the inning with Muhammad Rizwan. Overall he is one of the greatest cricketers of all the time.

Actually I like his batting style very much. He plays many amazing strokes in all around the ground. His batting technique is matchless. His strokes like cover drive, upper cut, straight six and lofted shots make him more interesting and loveable to watch. He is such a finest batter. He is a real game changer. Usually I watch cricket due to Babar Azam when he gets out in a match then I turn off tha TV. hahaha.

I still remembered that day when Babar Azam made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2015 and made a brilliant half century. So since that day the sports experts realized that he is coming as another big thing in the world of cricket. So he also proved that they were thinking right about him. Here are some achievements of Babar Azam.

• Currently he is the only batter in the world who is in top 5 in ICC rankings. No1 in ODIs, 5th in tests and 3rd in the T20s.

• Recently he achieved a record of making 5000 ODI runs in just 99 innings which is most by any batter in the world.

• He is only Captain of Pakistan cricket team who brought Pakistan at No1 in ODI in ICC rankings.

• In 2017 He won the champions Trophy for Pakistan from our arch rivals India.

• A few months ago he awarded with Sitara e Imtiaz, third highest civilian award of Pakistan.

• Last year he scored 25 fifty plus scores in a calendar year and broke the record of Australian captain Ricky Ponting.

• He won ICC ODI crickter of the year award two times in 2021 and 2022.

The journey of Babar Azam's cricket career inspired me a lot and it is also an inspiration for young cricketers. This is because he belongs to a middle class family. During his journey he never let himself down and keep himself focused on his goals. He stayed consistent and faced all the obstacles and problems with patience.

Actually success is not the results of one night's struggle, actually success is the results of sheer determination and hard work which you made for your goals. One upon a time when Babar Azam was a ball picker in the Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. From this he joined a cricket academy and domestic cricket and then started his career. Later after after a lot of struggle and hard work he was given a chance in Pakistani under 19 team. There he played some sensational strikes and played with aggression which urges the selectors to select him in the national team. Overall his journey towards cricket is a beacon of hope and motivation for the young cricketers.
