SCS32-W5 | Real-Life Problem Solving Challenge: Study Techniques
Assalam -O- Alaikum!
Welcome to another contest from @shahbazsial.
I have shared my study technique in this post regarding the challenge organised by @ahsansharif.
Studying and reading are the two common ways that we gain knowledge and learn by ourselves. This reminds me of my days in school when I took my studies very seriously, spending sleepless nights and burning candles to ensure that I had a good grade and learned from studying books.

Education can be done for different purposes. One is education, from when we are young to our final degree, which is a 16-year degree. What we study has different purposes and results.
That education is for getting a job, for getting a good position or for doing a business that has a good income. On the other hand, that education is for getting different types of knowledge, such as Islamic knowledge, knowledge of Pakistan's history, knowledge of current affairs, and apart from that, some people read technical novels for freshening up.
In this way, every person studies in his own way and everyone has his own goal. So, no matter what the purpose is, we must study so that we know the current situation and also keep our mind fresh and have an attachment to studying.
Q1.What study technique do you often use, and how effective is it?
Active recall is a study technique I use often .In this technique, I first memorize my lesson with great concentration and then I close the book and recall that lesson. If I forget any word, I leave it and note it on the copy. I recall everything else as much as I remember. And if I forget any word or sentence, I note it on the copy and remember it again. This is the most effective technique for me that I use during study.
Note Taking Method:
When I study, I note down the important information on my register so that it can be saved for a long time and whenever needed, I can look at it from there and use it. I then keep these notes so that they don't get lost. I have loved making notes since childhood and I make them very neatly and neatly.

To Make A List:
When I started to memorize my lessons, I would prepare a list, one for each subject, and then I would memorize my lessons based on this list. Because when the list was prepared, I didn't have to look around. I would follow the list and my work would be completed quickly. Without a list, it's a waste of time. I don't know which one to memorize first. That's why I would spend a little time preparing the list first, and when the list was prepared, I would save it for later.
Revision and Hand Written Test:
Before going to bed at night, I would revise my lessons and go to sleep. In the morning, I would write self-tests for all the subjects and then match these tests with the book. By remembering the mistakes I made, I would do my work very well.
These are my effective study methods through which I would complete my study period very well.
Q2.What is the biggest distraction that affects your studies, and how do you control it?
My biggest distraction are given as;
- Usage of Mobile phone with social media
- Noise of small children in the house
- Noise coming from neighbors
- Overthinking
- Don't Make time table
These are the biggest distractions in my studies, which used to disrupt my studies and had a very negative impact on my studies every day.
How do I control it?
- While studying, I used to put my mobile phone on silent and keep it away from the study table.
- When there was noise, I would stop studying and first try to quiet the noise.
- I used to read when I was completely relaxed.
- When I would finish some of my work and get bored, I would use my mobile for a short break.
Q3.What is one good habit that helps you improve your academic performance?
My best habit that made me successful was doing my daily work daily. I didn't think that I would study when the papers were coming. Rather, I did my daily work every day. I did it little by little but I did it regularly. That's why I didn't have the burden of studying. It's better to do it little by little than to regret it later.

Benefits
- It didn't weigh on my mind.
- When the papers came, there wasn't much pressure.
- AndI didn't have to put the paper near the papers.
- I used to do my work with a concept.
- This also increased my confidence.
Q4.Explain any digital tools, apps, or resources that you commonly use for study.
Google Calendar is the digital tool that I use. This tool helps me in the following ways:
- This makes me stick to the timetable.
- It reminds me to make tests and assignments.
- Help me to manage deadline.

Besides using Google Calendar I also used following tools 👇
Google: For research and exactly correct notes.
ChatGPT: For explanation and academic research .
Google Translator : For translation of complex and huge sentences.
Q5.What advice would you give to students who struggle with anxiety and depression during their studies?
Advice To My Students
I would like to give the following advice to my students:
To Make Study Plan
A study plan is very important to avoid major collapses in studies. Once the study plan is prepared and kept in front of you, everything should be done according to this plan and you will not have to look around.
Explain to others
When you have memorized your lesson, try to explain it to others. When you explain it to someone, you will read it very deeply and then explain it to them, so they will never forget you.
Get enough sleep
Try to get enough sleep because when you get enough sleep, your body and mind will be completely refreshed and it will be easy to remember everything. If you don't get enough sleep, you won't be able to remember anything easily because your mind will be completely tired.
Don't comparison with others
Don't compare yourself to others because everyone has their own mind and reading style. Always motivate yourself and try to understand and be better than others.

Active recall, note taking, list making and revision truly show that you are serious about learning well. I like how you write self-test for yourself, it can surely help to correct mistake quickly and make the brain to be strong and active. Truly, distraction is everywhere but with this kind of discipline, success will be sure. Keep pushing with this mindset, because education is the key which can open many doors for future.
