Assalam O Alaikum!

Today, I am going to share very famous and most eating fruit. Yes I am talking dates. Dates, which we call Khajoor, is not just a fruit for me. It is something connected with life, health, and also faith. From childhood, I remember dates in our home. Sometimes with milk, sometimes alone. They were always there. Dates are sweet, soft and full of energy. But more than taste, dates carry a special feeling.

Dates grow on palm trees. These trees need hot weather. That is why dates are mostly found in Middle East areas. Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iran, Iraq and Egypt are famous for dates fruit. Pakistan is also grow dates, especially in Sindh and Balochistan. Many African countries produce dates too. In Saudi Arabia, dates are part of culture. We can see them everywhere. There are many kinds of dates. Each type looks different and taste little different. Ajwa dates are very famous. They come from Madinah. These dates are dark and soft. Many people love them because of religious importance. Medjool dates are very big and very sweet. They are soft and juicy. Deglet Noor dates are lighter in colour and not too soft. Safawi dates are chewy and strong in taste. Mabroom dates are long and not extra sweet. Every date has its own value.

Dates give quick energy. When someone feels weak, eating dates helps fast. This is why Muslims break fast with dates. Dates contain natural sugar, not harmful one. They are good for stomach. Dates help digestion and reduce constipation. By eat dates daily, stomach works better. Dates are also good for heart. They help control blood pressure if eaten in right amount. Dates have many minerals. Iron, potassium, magnesium all are inside dates. Iron helps in blood. People who feel tired or weak, dates are good for them. Potassium helps muscles and brain. I personally feel fresh after eating dates. It gives calm feeling also. Dates also help bones stay strong, especially for old people. Pregnant women are advised to eat dates. This give strength and help during delivery. This is not new science only. This was known long time ago. Dates are simple but powerful. Allah has put many benefits inside this small fruit.

Dates are very special for Muslims. Eating dates is Sunnah of our last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him). He loved dates. He used to eat them and also break fast with dates and water. When we eat dates, it feels like we are following him. This gives peace to heart. Sunnah is not only worship, it is also guidance for healthy life. Dates can be eaten in many ways. Some eat with milk. Some make date shakes. Some use dates in sweets. Even simple eating is enough. We do not need fancy food when we have dates.

In the end, dates are not only food. These are blessing. These connect health with faith. These remind us of simplicity. Eating dates daily is a small habit but its effect is big. Body feels strong. Heart feels calm. And most important, we follow a Sunnah. That is why dates will always be special for me.
