Land Port, Birol

International relations, trade and travel between the two countries are carried out through land ports after the air route, which is less expensive and time-consuming. Today I will write about the rare land port of Dinajpur district. It is located in Radhikapur, Dinajpur, and it is also known as Radhikapur on the other side of India. Although it is a land port, the import and export of goods for trade and commerce has not yet started through this port, only people come and go for travel or treatment.

The last border of Bangladesh is India on the other side of the border
The end of the road, only there is no road connecting the two countries

Biral Radhikapur is a land port very close to Dinajpur district which is important for building good relations between the two countries and developing international trade, but due to the current overall situation in the country, everything is closed. The work of building a road for importing goods has been built up to the border of Bangladesh. Only because international activities are not started, the connection road between the two countries has not been built. The BGB guards here round the clock. Illegal goods come through these borders, for which the BGB soldiers guard.

Railway line in front
A train used to run on this line every day

Until 2024, people from both countries used to travel legally through this land port. There is a passenger shelter here, where you can complete the overall process by showing your passport and visa, wait, and then take the train to India on the Maitree Express. At that time, there was a train schedule here every day at 2 pm.

Land Port Guest House

There is a library here which is currently completely unused because people no longer travel through it. Once upon a time, this land port was crowded with people every day and many of them would send their families ahead and wait here until the train left. There is a small guest house here for overnight stays, which is now neglected as it is no longer in use.

18 km from Dinajpur

Biral Land Port is the second land port of Dinajpur, located 18 km from Dinajpur city. The first one is in Hili, through which all activities including import and export are still going on. However, since Biral Land Port is closer to Dinajpur city, it was more popular with people going to India.

I invite you @ripon0630 @max-pro @fombae to participate in this contest. I have attached the Google Map location and Steam Atlas pin of this land port below.
