Introduction to Kebab

Kebabs are one of the favorite dishes, famous for their rich taste, texture and irresistible aroma. They are made with minced meat, spices, herbs and pulses. Kebabs come in different varieties, from the smoky grilled Shami Kebab to the smoky grilled Sheek Kebab, known for their distinct taste. The versatility of Kebabs makes Kebabs special, Kebabs are prepared by frying, grilling and baking. They are served as snacks with biryani, pulao, rice, naan bread, paratha, chutney. Kebabs provide the perfect blend of tradition and taste. Making Kebabs at home is very easy and nutritious. Kebabs are an ideal dish for parties, family meals or festivals, which are prepared with a few basic ingredients and spices. Delicious Kebabs play a helpful role in satisfying our every craving.

The Kebab Challenge

In the fifth week of the Kebab Challenge, we will learn the technique of making Sheek Kebab. Sheek Kebab can be prepared in many ways, it is very easy to make and can be prepared in a very short time to entertain guests. Sheek Kebab is made with a combination of cubed meat, and vegetables of your choice. When choosing vegetables for the Sheek Kebab recipe, you need to choose vegetables that cook in a short time. This week, we will discuss the process of making Sheek Kebab in a very simple way. The magic of the hands of a skilled chef who plays with ingredients to create delicious dishes. Sheek Kebab adds a unique blend of texture and flavor to the food. Homemade Kebab is as delicious as it is healthy, in which everything is used in moderation. Sheek Kebab is a protein-rich dish made with a combination of meat, vegetables and other ingredients. The specialty of making Sheek Kebab is that it requires a stick or skewer to make it and the meat and vegetables are periodically inserted into the stick for frying. In the fifth week of the Steemit Learning Challenge, I am going to share an easy and delicious recipe for making Sheek Kebab.

Ingredients

Ingredients required for making Sheek Kebab:

Green capsicum1 piece
Red capsicum1 piece
Yellow capsicum1 piece
Onion cube1 cup
Ginger paste1 tsp
Garlic paste1 tsp
Soy sauce2 tbsp
White vinegar2 tbsp
Cornflower2 tbsp
Flour1 tbsp
Chili powder2 tbsp
Turmeric powder1 tsp
Coriander powder1 tsp
Roasted cumin powder1 tsp
Pepper powder powder1 tsp
SaltAs taste
Cooking oil1 cup
  • The use of capsicum is not mandatory for the kebab recipe, any quick-cooking vegetable can be added as per preference.

MAKING PROCESS

Step 1:

To make sheek kebab, I used chicken breast meat. I cut the meat into small cubes, washed it in clean water and drained it. After draining the water, I took the meat in a mixing bowl and added ginger paste, garlic paste, chili powder, turmeric powder, roasted cumin powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, soy sauce, white vinegar, and salt to taste.

Step 2:

Once all the spices are added to the meat, mix everything very well. For best results, we will marinate the meat for 15 minutes.

Step 3:

Once the meat is marinated, now we will add the diced capsicum and onion. Instead of capsicum, vegetables that cook quickly such as tomatoes and carrots can be used. While selecting the vegetables, make sure that the vegetables are fresh. After adding the capsicum vegetables, we stirred everything together.

Step 4:

After mixing the meat and vegetables well, we added 1 tablespoon of flour and two tablespoons of cornflour for binding. Then we stirred everything together again.

Step 5:

We will dip the sticks we will use to make shik kebabs in water beforehand so that the sticks do not burn while frying the kebabs. Now everything is ready to make shik kebabs.

Step 6:

When we prepare the vegetables, we must add the hard vegetables first so that they can hold all the ingredients of the vegetables. I added yellow capsicum first, then meat, onion cubes, other capsicum in turn. This is how I prepared the sheek.

Step 7:

After preparing all the vegetables, I heated oil in a pan on the stove to fry them. Then I dropped the kebab vegetables into the oil. I dropped several vegetables into the pan at a time.

Step 8:

Fry the kebab pieces from side to side. When everything is well fried and browned, drain the oil and place it on a tissue to absorb the excess oil.

Final Presentation

Now the sheek kebabs are ready to serve. It will be doubled in flavor with your choice of sauce. The juicy taste and aroma of spices in every bite will enhance the mood.
