Located in the heart of Badarganj Upazila of Rangpur District, Badarganj Vegetable Market is known as a very important and vibrant center of the agricultural economy of North Bengal. Every day before dawn, this market turns into a huge activity where thousands of farmers gather with fresh vegetables grown in their own fields. As this town on the banks of the Yamuneshwari River is mainly agricultural, the fertility of the soil here plays an important role in the production of various types of seasonal vegetables throughout the year. The incessant movement of vans, rickshaws and trucks in the market's narrow lanes proves that it not only caters to local demand but also serves as a major hub for supplying vegetables to various parts of the country, including the capital Dhaka and the port city of Chittagong.

The market is at its peak from 5 am to 9 am, when all around you can see the noise of people, the shouts of shopkeepers and porters with heavy sacks.

Around noon the market picture changes a bit as the wholesale trade slows down and the big trucks start loading up and leaving for Dhaka or Chittagong. At this time, the permanent shops of the market are crowded with daily essential food products including rice, dal, oil and local householders flock to fulfill their daily market. Amidst the dust and busyness of the market in the midday sun, the aroma of fried singara, piyaju and hot jillapi wafts from the small hotels nearby, which helps to relieve the fatigue of the buyers and sellers. The market comes alive again in the afternoon when people returning from office or work pick up fresh vegetables from the retail shops for the evening cooking. Bananas arranged in small fruit shops at the market junctions in the evening light,A display of guavas or seasonal fruits attracts shoppers and the smoke from the tea vendors' kettles creates a social atmosphere.
