SLC31-W6: The Curious Explorer : Food Culture Journey

The Curious Explorer series has come to us with a wonderful topic, the main theme of which is Food Culture Journey. As a curious explorer, today I will take you to a traditional restaurant in our area, Sahibaan Restaurant and Catering.

My Brief Introduction:

I am Mohammad Sumon. I live in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, and am a logistics and courier service professional by profession. Along with my busy life, one of my hobbies is participating in various community challenges on the Steemit platform and sharing my real experiences through blogs. Today, the destination of my food culture journey was a traditional and local food restaurant named Sahibaan Restaurant and Catering. There is a huge tradition of spicy, traditional, and genuine local food in our Bengali culture. This restaurant is mainly known for its traditional taste and homely atmosphere. I went here yesterday to experience their traditional cooking culture and its popularity.

As soon as I entered the Sahibaan Restaurant and Catering, I saw a nice and lively atmosphere. The interior decoration was not too fancy, but it was quite elegant and clean. The seating is suitable for having a comfortable meal with family or friends. The lighting and ventilation system was good. There is air-conditioned seating inside.

Services & Facilities:
In my opinion, the service of the staff here is very commendable. They take orders very quickly and do not take much time to serve the food at the table. Each table and the food serving utensils were quite clean. Sahibaan Restaurant and Catering is quite crowded during peak hours in the evening, due to which customers have to wait for some time to be seated. Also, the parking space outside this restaurant was a bit limited.

I found the price list or price of Sahibaan Restaurant and Catering to be quite affordable compared to the quality and quantity of food. Excellent food is available here within the budget of ordinary customers. I often go here with my family to eat.

Sahibaan Restaurant and Catering is mainly popular for its traditional and local items. Here you can find everything from biryani, tehari, khichuri, juice, and lacchi to various types of naan bread, paratha and kebab. But one of the special and most popular dishes here is Grilled Chicken. Till now, I have eaten grilled chicken every time I have visited this restaurant because my daughter Muntaha loves the grilled chicken here. As always, today too I ordered their special grilled chicken and hot paratha for myself.

Taste of the food: The taste of the grilled chicken was amazing, in a word! The spices penetrated the chicken very nicely, due to which it was quite juicy and soft. The light, smoky flavour of the gas fire enhanced its taste even more. The special salad, mayonnaise and fresh salad made the whole combination perfect. This is truly a special dish from this restaurant. Basically, we ordered two grilled chickens.

As a curious explorer, the time spent at Sahibaan Restaurant and Catering was a great experience for me. I think that food is not just a means of satisfying our hunger; it reflects the culture and preferences of a region. The entire time at this restaurant was well spent in this scorching heat, Alhamdulillah. Basically, we went there to have food on the occasion of my daughter Muntaha's birthday. I treated Muntaha today, and the food was delicious as always.

Sitting there, I noticed that people of all ages—especially families—were very satisfied with the traditional food here; different people were eating different dishes. The hustle and bustle around the restaurant, the aroma of delicious food, and the chatter of people's smiles fascinated me. The experience of enjoying authentic local grilled chicken in such a beautiful environment at the end of a busy week refreshed my mind. As an explorer, I enjoyed this food culture journey immensely.
