Blockchain Technology and the Future of Intellectual Property Protection
The way we are actually seeing the Blockchain world is actually changing and changing rapidly and if you should ask me, I love it. Most especially the way we think about ownership most especially in the intellectual property.
In the past, one of the things that have been causing massive issues is when in the aspect of the intellectual property like the music, the books and even the inventions generally we work on. For me, this is where Blockchain can actually make a big difference.
Blockchain is a digital system that records information in a very secure and transparent way. Once something is recorded on a blockchain, it cannot be easily changed or deleted.
This makes it very useful for protecting original work. For example, a creator can upload their work to a blockchain, and it will show the exact time and date it was created. I think this helps to prove ownership clearly, especially when disputes happen.
Not even only that, another strong benefit of the Blockchain which most of the time a whole lot of people underestimate is the aspect of helping the creators to make money directly from their work.
What do I mean by that? Recently now, through smart contracts, payment can be automated when someone buys your piece of content. For me I really find this quite so interesting because it will really help to reduce the need of the middlemen.
Blockchain can also reduce piracy. Since every transaction is recorded and visible, it becomes easier to track how content is being used. I believe this will discourage illegal copying and encourage people to respect the rights of creators.
But even with everything I have listed above, there are still a whole lot of challenges that I believe needs to be looked into. Not everyone presently now even understand how one can set up your Blockchain and how it works talk less of actually running it. Well I believe as technology improves, all these things will become much more better.
For me, blockchain technology has the power to transform intellectual property protection. It offers better security, clear ownership, and fair payment systems. I believe it is a strong step toward a future where creators are fully protected and rewarded for their work.
