Sportsmanship.
Sportsmanship.
There's something we've been trained to do, and it's hard to deny. For example, it applies to our attitude toward certain aspects of life: when we want to do something and accept in advance that it might be unprofitable, simply because it might steal our money, time, or something else, but we justify it with the phrase "sportsmanship." LOL!
Yes, there was a time when it was completely painless in the event of failure; it could easily be attributed to sportsmanship. Nowadays, however, we have to consider the costs and even... A trip to the forest to pick mushrooms, if the forest is far away and we need to get there by car, somehow doesn't fit with this phrase if we don't find any mushrooms there.
But what about admiring nature and breathing fresh air?
Let's be honest: if I plan to pick mushrooms, I plan to pick mushrooms, but if I want to take a walk and photograph nature, then mushrooms aren't my goal at that moment.
So, today, quite by chance, I decided to calculate the cost of a mushroom-picking trip to the forest and compare it with the possibility of growing mushrooms myself for the same amount of money.
You know, growing mushrooms at home has a better chance of success, whereas if you want to go for a walk in the forest, it's a fair investment.
When a sporting interest can clearly put a hole in your budget, it's not a sport anymore, but something else, an addiction that needs to be fought.
