Our soft water went hard and I was furious as many thought went into my head about it
Yesterday as I used the bathroom, I felt that the water is off, it feels rough after I rinsed the soap from my skin. Considering that our water filtration system is new and should be efficient, things went into my mind and I did felt angry about it because for one thing my father as I learned previously was using hard water from the faucet near at the front of the house, the waterline before it goes to the water purification system and then just putting hot water in it from the bathroom water heater.
I suspected that he had shut one of the valves near the water softener to bypass it and forgot to close it back while the water softener system is still on, i.e. the electronics is working or plugged in to show that it is still working. I went to see what was going on after I took my shower and took photos afterwards to investigate of the valves were "touched" but they were not as I saw the photos I took from November 30th last month when we moved back into this house, the valves are in their original positions, the water system is still working.
But the feels of the water is indicating a hard water, that is why I didn't use the water heater because hard water will make scum on the heating element, in other words, mineral deposits will stick into the heating element. But I already called my brother about it and he called the installer and asked him to fix the issue.
Apparently as I leaned now, my brother in-law worked upon the faucet which will be used for the washing machine and for use to clean their dog's cage at the back of the house. My mother said that he forgot to turn it back on but apparently his work had made the salt container of the water softener system to overflow which washed most of the salt away. I think that it was the root cause of the problem which can be solved by adding some fresh salt. My father saw it but didn't took action. However the person which installed the water softener system will come here today and I believe that he will correct the issue. I will take photo of the salt container and refer to its condition if I will need to add salt in the future.
