Walking men

It's so good right after the snowfall – it's graphic everywhere, there's snow on the twigs! Not this greyness... The only thing that can please in winter is the sun and snowfall.

On this snowy day, I photographed mostly graphics, but when I came across walking men, the plot came to life.

In general, it is possible to single out a separate subgenre of the reportage street with single walking men, where the figure is not the key, but only complements the landscape frame.

It turns out that the person in the frame makes the picture a little more reportage.

When people in the frame are large, that is, chest-high or the figure occupies two thirds of the picture, then it is clearly a street or portrait.

And this trick of mine (for some reason it is called that in the local community) to insert a person into a landscape or architectural frame is already being adopted by other photographers.

When there are a lot of people in the picture, it is perceived differently.

And I like to animate the frame with the figure of a person so imperceptibly that sometimes it is not the first time that this person is recognized in the frame.

But there are cases when a figure almost from the dot can become a key one.

This is where scaling, comparison, and juxtaposition come into play.

But there is also the opposite effect, when the people in the frame are only color-light spots and play the role of a pattern.

Specifically, in these frames, the graphic plot is animated by a person.

Well, then you need to show one graphic, not live, which will be perceived completely differently.
