The Joy and Meaning Kids Bring to Life

Kids are like blessings; not only do they make a house a perfect place to live in, but they also make life meaningful. They are entertainers, magicians, workers, and players—everything at the same time. Their presence fills a home with joy and helps us forget our worries. For me, a house without kids never feels like a real home. Kids are a remedy for depression, anxiety, worry, and sorrow.

We do not have kids in our home, but my cousins, though still very young, help fill that gap. I often bring them home, and their presence makes our place feel lively and complete. These little ones have an incredible way of creating entertainment out of nowhere. Their energy and innocence bring happiness that can lift any dull moment. I have experienced it myself—kids can turn even the most ordinary day into something beautiful.

My cousins may sometimes leave things in complete disorder, but even that mess becomes part of the joy they bring. They are quite naughty and never stay in one place. They hardly sit during the day, and we never force them to stop. We let them explore, play, and enjoy themselves because childhood is the phase of life where one can live freely and create memories that last forever. Kids bring life to whatever feels lifeless.

One of my maternal cousins is especially talkative. He keeps blabbering, has an answer for everything, and fears nothing. Sometimes I wonder how a seven-year-old can speak with the confidence and awareness of someone far older. Gadgets like mobile phones and TVs might be one reason. Although these devices can be useful, they can also be harmful in the long run. Kids have sensitive eyes and developing minds, and too much screen time can affect them negatively.

That is why we try to keep these gadgets away from him. We encourage him to use his mind and body instead. I have seen how children who depend heavily on digital devices lose interest in physical activities and outdoor play. While technology has its benefits, parents and guardians must limit its usage because these devices can easily become addictive and reduce a child’s ability to think independently.

Children should be allowed to play freely, use their imagination, and stay physically active. Let them explore the world, help themselves, and gain real-life experiences that will shape them into productive individuals. The future needs skilled and thoughtful humans, and that starts with a healthy childhood.

Kids cannot regulate their usage of digital gadgets on their own—they are innocent and unaware of the long-term effects. It is the responsibility of parents and guardians to guide them. I love watching kids play cricket and other games outdoors, covered in dust from head to toe. That is what true childhood looks like—pure, joyful, and unforgettable.

I hope to get married in the near future, and when I have kids, I will allow them to enjoy their childhood to the fullest. They will be free to play until they are ready for school, but I will make sure they do not get addicted to digital devices. These gadgets might entertain them for a while, but they cannot give them the kind of childhood that builds memories, character, and happiness.
