Oriental Dream
Sometimes I dream of being a king, on some island,
Very far away, in the seas of the East,
Where the night is balmy and brilliant
And the full moon shines upon the waters...
The scent of magnolia and vanilla
Hangs in the transparent and sleepy air...
The sea licks the edges of the woods, faintly,
With fine waves of foam...
And while I lean on the ivory balcony
Lost in endless musing,
You, my love, wander in the moonlight,
Through the deep garden along the clearings,
Or rest beneath the palm trees,
With a familiar lion at your feet.
