Calendar Quest & Unexpected Discoveries!!!
I can't find a reasonable wall calendar this year. It's February 5, and I've used the last one until it could serve its purpose. Every year, a cousin of my husband gives away these calendars to a few family members. They are like an integral part of our household, very convenient to use with this red date slider. We are so used to using these calendars. One of my kids has been assigned the duty to move the slider every night before going to bed. It has become a cute little ritual in our house.
While these calendars from an insurance company are good, serving the dual purpose of advertising and functioning as a calendar, this time I desired something different—more vibrant, perhaps a bit colorful. After all, these calendars are the main wall hanging in our living room.
Today, I'm taking it off the wall. I will save the transparent slider, hoping it might find a new home on a calendar of similar width. Excited to find a new calendar, I went online and started looking on a popular site in our country. But, to my dismay, I found some very "off-putting" ones. I'm going to share them with you. 😆

Why in the world would anyone fancy a pooping dog as a daily living room companion for an entire year? Sure, it's labeled as "funny" in the said site, but honestly, I just find it downright gross. I'll spare you the horror and won't even mention the other calendar pictures. Some of you may be having a morning coffee or tea while reading this. 😉

Now, am I lacking humor, or am I just a relic from the dinosaur era? @o1eh ??
I don't want to explore the mentioned site any further. I did look for some alternatives, but no joy. I'll head to bookshops in my rather small domestic area, hoping to have some luck finding a calendar with pleasing scenery or anything other than dog poops or cats balls!
What happened to those calendars featuring some inspirational quotes or scenes from beautiful places like beaches or hills? I'm aware of the option to customize, but the issue isn't that.
The primary concern: I can't seem to find a decent wall calendar online or in bookshops. I try almost every year.

There are alternatives with wooden or plastic chips for dates and days, but they don't serve the purpose. While they make for good decorations, the daily habit of looking at a traditional calendar is one I don't want to let go of. It's become a part of my routine and aesthetic preferences alone won't replace it.

WAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Oh honey! lol - It takes all sorts to make the world go round, lol!!! I cannot say that dog poop or cat balls are appealing to me in any way... but I do know someone that will giggle literally everytime you mention anything to do with poop... but I won't mention any names... (cough @quirk-it cough) haha!
I know HayHouse Publishers generally focus on quite positive uplifting stuff - I see they have three calendars available, which seem nice, but they look traditional in make up... so doubt they would have cool slider thingies... but here is the link nonetheless

Actually, these will cost me too much due to the "delivery charges." I can opt for the customized one in case I don't find a suitable option.

I think they write "limited stock" under every item to create the hype...
The new year's calendars are available at the end of previous year and in the beginning 2 months or so...
... that seems to make a lot of sense to me. We have the calendars for the coming year (and also for the following ones!) from May onwards. And at the end of each year there are only remaining items...
This is fantastic! I have never seen such calendars. They were definitely created by "talented designers". I am also a remnant of the dinosaur era😆.
We used to have the same calendars from EFU in my childhood. It was the duty of youngest sibling to change the date which he happily used to do first thing in the morning without ever forgetting.
I don't like the humour of the world in general. It's mostly gross or hurtful ( referring to body shaming).
21-gun salute to the dude who designed these calenders. My eyes are hurting.
I also have a thing for these traditional calendars with beautiful landscapes and informative snippets. I have the habit of annotating dates too.🤪
That's the fun part. Actually, it's the last page. December had two important events related to me (birthday) and us (anniversary) 😜... Somehow, the kids forgot. And I made a big deal out of this when the dates passed... Lol. To make them embarrassed.

I'm so happy that you could relate... These EFU calendars are really good. But they lost the quality. Apart from last page, rest are im very poor paper quality. I had to tape them. They tear so easily.

My dog makes his backside business only on nice places. I cant imagine to guide him to more bad places than the pretty parks and banks of our rivers, we use to visit two times on daily base. And yes, I took pictures from these pretty places. But to photograph the action of his very normal business, it never, never came out of my crazy mind. Why?! I have to think about. What's wrong with me? Maybe it's my dogs fault. Who knows.

And about you: well you have literally used the word "business" instead of p***. So it's not your fault that the idea never crossed your mind.
A side question: Will you ever put such a calendar in your home? I can't get over the "eccentricity" or rather " putrefied taste" of this idea.

If it would be a present of a jolly friend, I have to put it to the toilet wall and if someone is sitting there in very difficult business and looks on the pic, maybe it helps. The human psyche also has a direct effect on the metabolism and the nervous system.
A question back: Would you do it when you see a simliar pic close by in nature two times a day?
Business (Geschaeft) is the more ecucated expression for this doing (for the material as well) in German. And for your surprise I have to say, Germans do big business, and small business. It's always a question i.e. when you're outside with your kids. Mummy I must! In German: Mammi ich muss! It means the child has to go to any toilet. Then mummy asks: Big or small? (Groß oder klein?). If it is a small business, maybe she says: Go there behind the tree.
The German word Geschaeft is also a store and of course any business. Which business is meant is left solely to the context. Of course, this also invites satirical associations.
