A day trip to Münster market

In my previous post I mentioned about our trip to city centre to visit the market and today I wanted to share with you our photography. This time I did the photos using my smartphone, my hubby did not have his professional cameras as the main of our trip was to visit the market and to taste delicious food.

The weather yesterday was chilly only +16C, cloudy and time to time we had wind luckily there was no rain during the whole trip.

The market takes place on so called Domplatz, because of St.-Paulus-Dom on this place that is a Cathedral erected in 14th century and since 1901 bi-weekly market takes place on this Cathedral place usually on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

 

 
You can see sandstones that building of made off, I love that clear beige colour of them. Sandstones get dirty quite quickly therefore, every few years the whole building requires proper clean by stonemasons. We were glad that this time the walls were free of construction scaffolding and you can see that magnificent building.

 

 

 

Once we visit the market we do visit the Netherlands Fish selling trailer from "de Jong", they have both fresh fish but also so called "Fischbrötchen" there is no exact translation for them, but I found something like "fish sandwiches" or "fish buns". I have chosen "Lachsbrötchen" or "Salmon sandwich" that was delicious!!! It is worth to visit the market only because of such tasty food.

 

 

 

Münster Cheese shop "Henry Willig cheese"

 

I have posted about the shop shortly because we bought some cheese yesterday there, but today I wanted to show how many different sorts of cheese arts are there.

It is not only different taste that naturally cheese develops due to age, the combination of different ingredients but also there are many different taste like:

• different herbs

• garlic

• chilli

• honey and many, many different

Each sort of cheese has a little plate with tiny square pieces so that people can taste them and decided if they like them or not. I believe that majority of people here were just for tasting rather for buying anything.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The shop has also different types of wine, that you also can choose to your cheese. For those who do not like cheese like for my hubby, there are some chocolates, again different taste and with nuts or berries.

What I like the most was the wrapped gifts that give you an idea what you can present to your friends and also the prices.

This is now my favourite delicacies shop and we definitely will visit it few times during our stay here.
