Burn Steem: do we need a Soft-fork?

Hello my dear Steemians,

*

After writing a post about Burn Steem Initiative I express my opinion where I do not think that if only ordinary user will join the Initiative in order to get Upvote from SC account will make a change.

I would like to thank @remlaps for his post that he did with explanation and some graphs showing what changes happen since the Initiative started.

https://steemit.com/business/@remlaps/steem-token-burning-visibility-as-a-service

In my opinion if to run such Initiative we all the Steemians have to be involved and as you all know we human need some rules and sometimes such rules need to be integrated into system and will be accepted because there is no other choice.

If we want Steem burning to work everyone should take a part, that mean it should be automatically integrated in our Rewards like:

  • if we are posting then for example 10% of payout should automatically go to @null

That also means no matter who posts the whale who has delegated all the Investment to @Upvu, @Justyy or any other service, we all pay out 10% that is automatically deducted and burnt

  • when we are curating then the same amount of 10% or curation reward should automatically burnt.

*Because at present users are setting their post 25% Burn steem and receiving Upvote from @Steemcurator01, which is good for users but if user is burning his Steem the Curator in this case earning Steem that means the poor becomes poorer and rich becoming richer. Because the curation rewards are not set for burning:

  • Witnesses should also contribute with their 10% to Burn Steem Initiative

Because they earn large amount of Steem on daily basis if they would like to have strong team they they should take part in this action.

Likely it will be a Soft-fork needed to get it implemented but this is only way to make all of Steemians involved and all to feel fairly treated. Any thoughts?

Hello dear friend @stef1 good day
I share your opinion, I think this should be everyone's effort, we should all get involved to grow the value of steem.
I consult you? 10% must be configured as a beneficiary to the @null account and that's it, would we already be contributing to the burning?
Have a beautiful Sunday

Yes, that is like a dead wallet or black hole where everything goes and just been destroyed. Like I mentioned below if we will have one Steem equal to 8 USD like in the past, then users who earn only 2 Steem will be happy as they receive 16 USD. Of course the whales will receive even more, therefore, they should be also interested in high value of steem.

I think that if there would be a burn mechanism it should be fair to all because if we have to force small stake holders there isn't much left for them to utilize @stef1

But I believe that we must burn steem in order for the price to rise. Whatever what the devs come-up with I hope that it will not be too heavy for the common users which are already struggling to acquire steem.

I agree with you and of course we all understand that the little accounts will feel it more, but at the end if you imagine now little account receiving only 2 Steem that is valued let's say 50 Cent, but if the price of Steem will go back to $8.00 then having 2 Steem they have 16 USD and not 0,50cent. Does it make sense?

An interesting topic, I think that if we want to increase the price, everyone should contribute and not just a few. I hope to see the answers and recommendations of the users, on how this topic can be implemented in a fair way, and thus learn more about this universe of steemit.

Greetings.

Yes, I think the same, if to contribute then all of the users and not only few and if it is not automated then people will not do it on voluntary basis, because it is typical human.

True, small sacrifices to see a brighter Steem is required. We need to look at the bigger picture and not just the temporary little cut back of 10% to 15% in pay outs

Yes, that is something we all need and to tell the truth people will not notice if that is automatically deducted. I can imagine how much Steem will be burnt daily the Price should be going up very quickly then.

that means the poor becomes poorer and rich becoming richer.

This rule has been in effect since the creation of the World.
I don't think it will be possible to change it. People with money set the rules of the game in their favor. Otherwise, the poor will not get crumbs from the table.

I understand that I am a plankton and I am at the bottom of the food pyramid.

I think that burning 10% of tokens should be prescribed in the platform code. Yes, this is an unpopular measure, especially for those who have few tokens and who came to the platform in order to earn some money.
But if nothing is done now, tomorrow could be even worse.
Unfortunately, I don't see any concrete work in this direction on the part of the platform's management team (just don't mention decentralization)...
