St. Andrews: old cathedral ruin and cannons
When you visit any old historical place it is like stepping back into history, some place look after their heritage and do everything to preserve the history. The people who now live in these places have their ancestors and often the history is already exist in their family stories.
That is why when we visited this beautiful city St. Andrews we were fascinated these majestic cannons, of course, they are not functioning at the moment but used just for tourists still it is amazing feeling when we see them here just on coast and who knows that in the past they were there for protection of the city from invaders.
Next to cannons you can see this path just going along the coast and towards the ruins of an old cathedral.
Everywhere you look you see the traces of history, it is interesting feeling that overwhelms us when we are there, we want to touch the stones, to feel how it was felt by the people who built the walls and also by others who destroyed the walls. There is so much that the walls have seen and if they were able to speak might have told us. But they are silent and we do not what is behind. Maybe that how it should be we all build our own history.
