Hello my dear Steemians,

While writing my post yesterday about the garden and what we have planted it made me think about the flowers that coming up first as sign of spring. It is of course snowdrops and they are very first but even then it is not real spring. We still may have cold days and even more snow.

Since I was a child and going to school on for example 8th of March that is considered to be International Women Day we used to present flowers to our teachers. That time there were not many flowers but among them there were Lilac of different colours that people could buy and of course, they were not very expensive. I remember that the vase with Lilac were on teacher’s table and the whole room was full with that nice smell.

Now it is a time when the Lilac bushes are blooming and what I love most they are different colours: white, blue and violet. My favourite is violet. Every year when Lilac is blooming I am telling my hubby that we have to plant them in our garden too, I would like to have all three colours because only in that combination it brings a special touch to garden.

lilacs are so beautiful! they need your climate to grow, here I think it´s too hot. Lovely painting!

Thank you Romanie, when I did this painting I was very inpatient while waiting for the Oil paint to dry, I used palette knife for flowers and of course it took a while to try. On and off was gently touching to check it it is dried.I still have some Oil paints and one canvas that I already planned to do something with Oil will try to do once I have a free weekend.

I agree Lilac likes a bit cooler climate and here there is no problem, they bloom everywhere :)

yes, Oil painting requires so much patience, I find that when I return to it after a long time without using this technique I get impatient or sometimes create a mess.

The sign of spring that I like best is that the days are getting warmer. I don't like the cold.

Me too, but in your place it is much more warmer and for longer time.

Yes, here in Italy the cold, I mean the temperature that bothers me, is only in winter.

This spring I was running greedily, looking for the first signs of spring and what could be considered such among us. Once upon a time, it also seemed to me that it was lilac, because cherry trees, cherries and apple trees bloom when it's still cold.
Now, looking at the photos on Steemit, I concluded that spring is green grass and the first green leaves on the trees.

That is beautiful oil painting. Here at my place generally its in March - April but it's very hot here in those days too as climate changed now as not everything on time. But i wound love to enjoy Morning in spring as it's so lovely.

Good morning @stef1 I like your painting especially the colours of the lilac. Great composition, the bouquet itself reminds me of a fan a lady would use when in the theatre for instance. I love purple lilac but I have never seen blue lilac. I hope you plant all three in your garden.

Here in my country we do not have spring but after the cold season the temperatures get hot up to 34-35 degrees Celsius.

I like that season though because I regard it as season of natural sauna @stef1 👍 and the only difference was the emergence of seasonal tropical fruits! 😋

When the squirrels play in the yard. We get a lot more rain in the spring, so the squirrels and birds eat and play a lot more…before it gets too hot. Birds sing a lot more too.

And like you said about the lilac…all the colors of nature start to come out.
